The best teams in the league will always have the worst prospect pools. Thats how the NHL works. When you have a chance to win the cup you trade your picks for NHL players. Id much rather have a chance to win the cup every year and a shitty prospect pool, compared to say the Ducks who some would say have the best prospects, but look at where their team has been and will be.
I don't put much stock in "rankings".
Its expected if you're a Cup contending team. Rebuilding teams have the best prospects but have a weak roster of players. Thats a price to pay for a chance to win a Cup. You're not going to wait 3 to 5 years for the players to pan out when they're in win mode now.
