Tampa is far from written off I imagine they’ll have another deep run this season after having a full off season to recover for the first time in 3 years.
Not only will Tampa be known for losing to the Leafs, they will be known for losing 2 years in a row to the Leafs and this year will be even worse than a game 6 OT loss for Tampa.
Winning your division or President's Trophy does not matter to the fans of any NHL team, only Lord Stanley matters.

TBF, Anyone that has lost to the Leafs in the first round in the last few decades should be embarrassed. How many teams have played that bad anyways? I'm a Leafs fan and this makes Toronto look bad(rightfully), not Tampa. The Lightning have playoff proven superstars on their team. Leafs do not have playoff superstars, not even close. Leafs don't have a single player above average when it comes to playoff hockey. Auston Matthews is an average hockey player in the playoffs. It goes down from there.

Sergachev has a Stanley Cup champions mentality and you gotta respect that. Dude has 2 Stanley Cup championships and 3 Stanley Cup Final appearances under his belt and isn't satisfied. If players like this ever become available in free agency, you sign them!

When the hell is the hockey world going to disect what happened to the Bruins last year. The biggest let down of any NHL team ever. If the Leafs did this it would give the hockey world 100 more years of Leaf bashing material.

A rested and healthy Tampa team is a dangerous team. They’ve had a whole summer off, and a regular summer at that. Not these short off seasons the past few years. If Sergy is pissed, imagine Vasy. The guy has been known as the greatest in the world, and was criticized about how he wasn’t performing as expected. You could tell he was pissed when the series ended. That is scary if you’re facing Tampa. They have a chip on their shoulders.
