    With a 7-3 loss to the Blue Jackets followed by 5–1 and 6-5 respective wins over the Stars and Wings, the Leafs outscored their opponents 14-13. The Leafs‘ Young Stars’ team for the most part threw defence under the bus, having on average per game scored and allowed 4⅔ and 4⅓ goals.

    When last regular season it came to goals:
    – scored by Canadian NHL teams, the Oilers and Leafs, with 325 and 278 (on average 3 ⁷⁹⁄₈₂ and 3 ¹⁶⁄₄₁), finished first and second
    – allowed by Canadian teams, the Habs and Canucks, with 305 and 296 (on average 3 ⁵⁹⁄₈₂ and 3 ²⁵⁄₄₁), finished first and second

    I like it that on average, the Leafs’ Young Stars scored a lot of goals, but not that they allowed so many. Last regular season the Canucks allowed three or more goals so often that they ended up 12 points back of the nearest available playoff spot, a step backwards from the season before that. Hopefully the Leafs’ NHL players will be a lot smarter and not throw defence under the bus weather during preseason, regular season, or postseason play. Scoring goals will also matter because the top-six forwards won’t be able to produce all the offence the team will need particularly come playoff time.

    If the leafs could add both zadorov and olesiak to the defence and somehow get under the cap by at least 2 million that would be enough to sign Kane and kessel

    I don't get why some people have trouble understanding the Reaves acquisition. Leafs are bullied in the playoffs every year. Reaves at the least will allow guys like Domi and Bertuzzi to do what they were brought here to do. Still need a guy like Shenn on D.
