It blows my mind that we're dealing not just with grown adults but millionaires and they have to hand over their cell phone like they're in prison or an abusive school. The coach's job isn't to judge a player's personal life. His job is to put a system in place that will help the team win. The players' personal lives are fundamentally irrelevant unless they approach the coach or someone else in the organization with a mental health concern. A player's cell phone goes far beyond the scope of a coach's job and is none of their business. I was on a swim team for over a decade and no coach once pried into private information like that. Sure, I've dealt with unprofessional coaches, but even the most unprofessional coach I dealt with didn't care what I was doing outside of the pool beyond the usual diet, exercise and sleep routine. Whether I had a girlfriend or not was none of his concern as long as I was on time for practices and swim competitions and put the effort in. I've never heard of a coach doing something like this and not ending up at least fired.
It would be good PR to move Pearson to a team he wants to go to for like a 4th rounder. We certainly wouldn't get a lot for him anyway so maybe focus on doing right by Tanner.
Moving Pearson is the solution to your cap problem. It gives you enough space to ride out the final year of Myers and then you have real breathing room.
Excellent trade for Vancouver… I am impressed. I haven't said that a lot about Allvin… I have to say it here. This could easily make a 5 to 10 W's difference in the standings compared to Martin as backup; and keeps Silovs in development down in Abby. Tanner gets out of a bad-vibe situation with all that surrounding his injury, cap hit is lowered, and the 3rd wouldn't see playing time, if ever, until approaching 2030, so… who cares, if the goal is to impress Petey into re-signing and committing, NOW. Love this move; there's not a bad thing about it. NOW ON TO DUMPING MYERS OFF SOMEWHERE!

Insane how quickly the story changed and then he was gone.

Blue jackets GM and president should be the next to go.
I think management has to go, worst decision ever made.

There is no free lunch kids, no soup for you
Gossip trumps facts in this culture
Friedman sided with Gaudreau who is a documented lying pos over Biz.
F'k Friedman.
Columbus attractive play and improvement in regular season?
coming back from injury, would it help Pearson to play short while in AHL to start season?
any teams with cap space that could use Canucks winger(s)?
Say what you will about Mike Babcock but the dude fleeced the blue jackets for 8 million dollars.

This tells the nhl all they need to know that players had to reach out to biz rather than management .
Babs could not change his ways.
Elliot is top notch. Shows how far our media need to go to be taken seriously.
Babcock is toxic, who invites a player to their home and does this sort of stunt?
Elliote Shillman
Is that Elliottee pic a joke?
Let's all agree not to talk about Babcock again.
Elliotte Friedman is irrelevant. Seriously, what does he know??
Mike Babcock is a weirdo
EF has been around a long time. You dont last a long time in his business and not be a class act. Thanks
Story at 3:29 is certainly weird. Im still waiting for more on the babcock story though.
soft
Columbus management are dead men walking. Pretty sure the only reason they aren't fired is how close it is to training camp and start of the season.
