Sure, it may have brought them closer as a team, but they also probably have less trust for the FO who are making decisions that directly affect them as employees and that’s not a great place to be as an organization.

No player fell so in love with him through 2 or 3 meetings that they will be upset with another player on their team who had a « awful to awkward » meeting with him. I could understand if you argued that some veterans are so focused on winning that they felt they ‘needed’ a coach like him, but even that I find very hard to believe.
​
Additionally, this team has so little to no drama between the players. Most seem to get along with each other, and just look at Marchenko light up the room in the darkest of years. Hoping for the best results in the standings, but all else failing, this team will stick together.
