I love the idea of center Nylander. Gets him more involved in the play, keeps him away from the boards in the offensive zone so he can stay in more dangerous areas and in the defensive zone the center's role is a lot more well defined than for wingers, so should get him more engaged there as well.
It would be very interest if they dare split up Matthews and Marner as well. As Marner could cover for Nylander's defensive shortcomings a bit, could be like when Nylander played with Bäckström at the World Championship to great success. These lines would be fun as fuck to see them try out:
Domi – Matthews – Bertuzzi
Knies – Nylander – Marner
Matthews in a shit stirring, but highly skilled line. And Nylander as the center piece supported by an elite playmaker and a promising young power forward that could do the dirty work for them.
IMO when Wil plays center the defense gaps that are part of his game seem to get magnified. It will be interesting to see how and if his game evolves.

Top line is: Bertz, Matthews,Marner combined they could be tops in the NHL.The speed of the D is the concern. The NHL is a speed game with younger faster players. Samy is the number one goalie with Jones experience as the backup.

I like the idea to play willie at center. I would give Tavares the wing with Mathew’s and Marner and see how that goes. Mix it up a bit and trying something new is good. So it’s a good approach.
