  1. Loved the Lalonde interview. While short it seemed to provide good insight into his thinking and coach/interpersonal style.

On Cossa, and this may sound like an excuse but its also a criticism, I think he may be a slow starter. He didn't look comfortable in those prospect games, even early before he got shelled. It seems like that's the case during the seasons as well, i.e. he seems to adjust slowly. I'm really curious to see what he does this coming season. I thought Wallinder actually did some good things on defense, looked pretty steady which was rare on defense. Danielson played well by the numbers but I was hoping he'd stand out more, Kasper didn't stand out much to me. That doesn't mean either had a bad tourney, just was hoping they were more dynamic and stood out.

The bottom 6 is going to be really interesting on how they are rotated through the season. Its a new feeling to have an excess of NHL caliber players….

  2. Watching Fantilli was something else, Danielson was good but yeah you can tell the gap between a top 3 pick and a 9th overall pick pretty easily. Watching Cossa was pretty painful, you don't wanna panic but I have yet to watch him and come away impressed.

  3. Big Congrats to Ryan, glad she said yes! Excited to see the boys at training camp, looking forward to seeing what Sprong and Ghost bring to the table. Ill be attending some Griffins games this season as well. Nice to see you guys pulling some big fish for interviews, you guys deserve it, solid questions for coach. LGRW 🐙 🏒 🤘

  4. Great interview as always! Keep grinding boys – love all the hard work 🤘🏽⚔️🤘🏽

  5. I always felt that those Red Wings teams coached by Babcock won in spite of him , not due to his coaching. Free agents stopped coming here not because of Datsyuk and Z that’s for sure.

  6. On Cossa: I see a lot more question marks now than I saw last season, but I absolutely believe in the kid. If he pans out, he'll be an incredible goalie…. but that next step must be taken first. I'm cautiously optimistic with him.

On Babcock: Good bloody riddance. And there's no damn way whatsoever they did "due diligence". I think it's more likely Jarmo met Babcock at 3am in a Waffle House than any sort of due diligence. Furthermore, I hope this is a wake-up call to the establishment in the league that, at some point, coaches need to be removed from the carousel. As I've said in plenty of places elsewhere… some people don't deserve a redemption arc. This is proof.

  7. Not much to do about Cossa but to have patience. He looked bad in the tournament and in 3-4 years we'll be able to tell if he's a bust or not. Could take even longer.

  8. “We never got over the hump in Tampa until we found a way to keep the puck out of our net.”

    Bars.

  9. I was impressed by Lombardi at the tournament, his hands are incredible. Cossa- concerning yes, and I know it’s another justification, but in the Dallas game they gave up 3 3on1’s and I believe they were all goals. Team seemed to play differently in front of him, but hopefully it’s not a situation where the team has to be stacked for him to play at his peak.

Finally- man, every time I saw Adam Fantilli touch the puck I was wishing he were a redwing. That guy is going to be 🔥

  10. Typical Red Wings fan logic. Holland was an idiot that accidentally won a bunch of cups. The team that bafoon built won the cup in spite of Babcock. Yzerman is a ringer even though he has never won a cup as an executive. The loss in 09 broke this fan base and now it can't even think logically anymore.

  11. This guy is so obnoxious. The only thing Wings fans have to look forward to is him being fired. Yeah Fester, we know you were in Tampa where everything was perfect.

  12. I think with Cossa you need to look more at the stats in the echl than a prospects tournament. Second half of the year Cossa dominated the echl when Lethemon got called up to GR.

  13. I love watching these videos instead of listening on Spotify just to watch that super awkward bit in the beginning where you're staring at each other waiting for the music to stop.

  14. Love Newsy talk! "Be harder to play against" 23/24 Ex hits added: 816; Ex blocks added: 511. Per Cossa, this is a perfect opportunity to prove my suspicion that Yzerman took Cossa because he thought he could handle the extra hot spotlight Detroit fans/media always put on the Wings goalie (Lions qb, Tigers closer, also). 100% on brand we freak out over a prospect tourny, let's see how he responds and if Steve and I were right.
