There was a lot going on with the team at the time but interesting timeline. Babs was pushed, Gorts and JD decline and fired a few weeks later for various reasons, maybe including this one.
Bullet dodged but for all the “lol JD and Babcock” going on right now, there is still a Babcock advocate in our franchise.

How old is Cigar? He must be in his 80s right? How is this guy STILL the dark shadow of our team?
That one guy on this sub would have loved the hire. Especially if Babcock brought Lafreniere into his office and had him rank his teammates’ work ethic, then shared the list with the entire locker room
Imagine being a team in the middle of a rebuild and…wanting to hire a guy who was most recently fired due to, in part, controversy for mistreatment, misappropriation, and mismanagement of young players/prospects
