@Ducks d'Anaheim

1. isn't it a bridge deal like 2-3 years I still don't think it's that far off maybe closer to 4.5-5.5mil if that's the term

  2. zegras wants to win a cup. zegras isnt being offered that, he has most likely asked for that. mans is being selfless and smart at the same time. If he signs with the Sabers he will take the same money. 9/21/2023

  3. Man, if Zegras is worth 3-4M$ as a 22 yo, the Habs sure got fleeced by giving Alex Newhook 2.9M$ AAV lol

  4. I disagree just becuase he isn’t franchise know doesn’t mean he can’t grow later I think he could be future superstar

  5. I really don't like zegras ( as a fan of hockey I can't stand him) but 4 mil is a joke.

  6. Best i would offer is 3×6 mil 3 to 4 mil sounds low but heard the guy running the negotiations is a tough guy to negotiate with but better than over paying 16 mil is alot but that vanishes awfully quick if start over paying you end up like cough toronto cough

  7. I have been a ducks fan for 30 years now and I am not a huge fan of Z. He is not leadership material. I agree with the Troy Terry contract for comparison. Verbeek may see the same thing and he could be problematic for chemistry. I don’t think he likes hotdog players.

  8. Leo Carlson is their next #1 center. Zegras is a baby about everything so maybe they will just get rid of him since he will likely complain about reduced playing time and reduced visibility. Let someone else sign him for big dollars and collect some future picks in the process.

  9. Offering 3 or 4 mil for Zegras after giving Terry 7.0 and signing Killorn at 6.25 is insane when you got 16.6 million in available cap space.

Is Anaheim operating on an internal budget or something ? Most teams would easily pay over 6.0 for his services, with a good bidding war maybe he’d end up signed for around 7.0 or 7.5.

After all Dubois got signed for 8.5, Suzuki 7.875, Caufield 7.850, Sanderson 8.050, Bratt is 7.875 as well … who knows how high it would end up ?

  10. I don't think Zegras is overrated. I think hes arguably the face of the new tricky style of hockey that has started dominating the league in recent years. he's bound to be a ppg player if not this season than the next. While I don't think he's a franchise player just yet, I wouldn't say the hype around him isn't warranted

  11. Zegras has made more money for the ducks and the NHL on marketing alone than what he'd be getting in that offer. I don't think this is true, I think 6.5m to 7m is what they might be offering but Zegras probly wants equal or more to Jack Hughes money.

  12. Anaheim needs consistency in lineups. Let the players work together and build chemistry and find their roles. Zegras is a great passer and has a good shot. Not just the trick plays. He needs a defined role on an established line that will skate together for more than 5 games at a time. Put him on a wing with a more physical center.

  13. Lol your intro smacks of disrespect. He's been in the league 2 years and you'd kill to have any talent like his in Calgary lmfao

  14. 3-4mil seems about right for a young and talented player that's complete locker room cancer and possesses lots of intangibles for losing games and seemingly none for winning games unless it goes to a SO that doesn't even exist in the playoffs if he ever makes it there

  15. Considering Boldy got $7M for only playing 1 full season, being inconsistent, and a no-show in the playoffs I'd be upset if I was Zegras too.

  16. 7 mil min.
A buddy posted this in our hockey chat and I straight up said the team slapped him in the face when lewis makes as much.
An starting offer of 6 and there is room to talk. Anything under 5 is an insult.

  17. Yah, Zegras is totally overrated! He was the leading scoring on a dreadful team as a 21 year-old. What a bum. Send him to the minors. Jeez…
