Leafs Morning Take (un Pod que j’ai découvert via r/Leafs – merci à celui qui a posté à ce sujet) a dit qu’ils voulaient voir un bain de sang avoir lieu le 11 octobre contre les Canadiens de Montréal. Treliving a construit une équipe Leaf capable de pulvériser les adversaires et d’intimider. Au lieu d’une équipe qui se fait bousculer dès la journée d’ouverture et jusqu’à ses départs anticipés en séries éliminatoires. Vous savez quoi? Je suis 100% d’accord. Je veux voir Reaves contre WiFi au centre de la glace ce soir-là. Et je veux un signal à la LNH et même une revanche pour tous les joueurs de second ordre qui pensaient qu’il était acceptable de tromper Matthews (par exemple Konecny) et de mettre nos recrues sur la touche (par exemple les Panthers). Qui aime une équipe plus coriace en 2023 qui n’a pas peur d’enfiler le fleuret ? Et de quelle manière les Leafs ont-ils été bousculés au cours des 6 dernières années et nous voulons y mettre fin maintenant. Nous avons le crétin le plus dur depuis 3 ans et beaucoup d’autres durs maintenant aussi….. dès le jour de l’ouverture ! Obtenez les garçons et les filles du pop-corn !

I have no doubt whatsoever Domi fights somebody and we see Reaves vs Wifi.
Wifi followed Simmonds around the ice last year and Simmonds stayed as far away from Wifi as possible. It was disappointing to say the least.
Temper expectations. Reaves probably won’t play much, and Domi and Bert aren’t fighters. Domi had 2 fights last year and Bert had 1. Both guys are pests who will yap and do some pushing and shoving between whistles. There’s a reason Marner described those additions as “piss and vinegar”—it’s really about bringing more energy and vigour. Tre himself used the term “snot”, which really is to say guys who play with some edge—guys who have the courage to get in the trenches. But thinking this team is going to “pulverize” and “intimidate” opponents is misguided. I do think face-washes/60 will increase substantially though.
You want it to be a blood bath against one of the worst teams in the league?
What I want to see is the Leafs bully them on the scoreboard and have an October and November where they can show they can give an effort for a full 60 minutes.
There are going to be so many people vehemently disappointed when they realize this team is only going to be marginally “tougher” than last year’s team.
And the number of people who seem to think Max Domi = Tie Domi is mind boggling.
