Considering the Flyers are trying to offload contracts, gain assets, and get younger. That asking price seems about right.
Gotta get pinto signed, I’d rather see kubalik or branstrom moved but I agree pinto is at least a 2.5 AAV player. Do not move either of this years first round picks
So not only did DeBrincat expose himself in one quote, but raised the chances of Sens fans booing him from 99.9% to 100%.
Debrincat didn't wanna be in Ottawa from day one, it's not uncommon for players to underperform when they're in a situation they are not happy in.
He was trying to get out of Ottawa ASAP, no intentions in being a part of the future, and Detroit was the only destination he had in mind.
He is putting his best foot forward so far in training camp and I expect him to have a big year, and think his best seasons are still to come.
Its gonna piss off Ottawa fans when he's scoring 35-40 in Detroit every year, but they gotta realize and accept he didn't want to be there ever, and there was no reality where cat was part of the future

Debrincat was a perimeter player who seemed more interested in skating back to the bench than producing anything. He was surrounded by talent from day one and he checked out right off the hop. He didnt want to play behind Brady but he couldnt hold his jock strap. Good riddance.

Re: Kuznetsov: interesting comments. While players often use the coach as a scapegoat or excuse for their poor play in some cases it may well be accurate. Coaches come in and implement their system and if he doesn't take into consideration the type of players on the team it could end up in disaster. It'd be like a defensive-minded coach going to the Oilers and preaching that philosophy to McD, Draisaitl, etc. A great example of this is Ducharme in Montreal and how he handled Caufield….geesh….it didn't take long for Cole to turn his game completely around once Ducharme was fired and St. Louis was brought in. St. Louis was the perfect guy to bring in and it showed immediately. There are lots of other examples we could look at…..hmmmm…..maybe a Babcock discussion fits in here…😂😂😂
Re: Debrincat: interesting comments. I've said on your channel before that players who, for whatever reason, start getting traded every other year often see their game go totally in the tank. For many…it can be a career ender. Look at what happened to Galchenyuk when he left the Habs….totally derailed his career. There are many other examples we could consider…PK being another hehe example. These players were never the same and end up being bounced around from team to team and then they're gone. While Debrincat is a solid player and has a long term contract he would do well to focus on his game and keep his yap shut. All the yapping just aggravated the situation….keep your mouth shut and show it all on the ice (& definitely keep your head on a swivel whenever you play the Sens…😂😂😂)

Laviolette was an awful coach for the caps. We saw that with how infrequently he'd play key young talent. McMichael, Lappiere, Protas, Snivley and more…. Then brought in young talent that would need time to bond with a new team (sure milano and sundin have done well but he already has a great crop of young players.. Players who won the Calder cup at his disposal). He kept doing the same thing over and over and over. Expecting different results. Our PK has been the best thing about the caps recently… That shouldn't be the best thing about them.

I think DeBrincat is making excuses because he can't believe he's regressed since his days in Chicago with Kane. We'll see this year if he has regressed and is now a 30 goal player, or if he can be a 40 goal player again without Kane.
Great take on Joseph that i have been screaming. Joseph is a good/useful player that is overpaid by 800k or so. A second round sweetener is all i would ever offer to dump his salary.
