look, NYR is a star studded team and what this team is looking like is great, but they're aging, Panarin and Kreider aren't getting any younger here. once they start to regress, then what? clearly development of younger players isn't the focus. I'm just saying, the way this team is coached might not build them any longevity.
The one bright side that comes from this is that it'll force Chytil back into the top 6 again. New York needs to stop ruining their young guy's careers and let them cook. Chytil already proved that he can be a legit 2C the last time he was injured, so why did they sign Trocheck to that awful contract? This is why every most of their prospects so far has failed to develop and reach their potential. If Lafreniere and Kakko were on literally any other team, they'd be stars by now. They deserve so much better.

Everything agreed.. EXCEPT. Pittsburgh is WAY better now? Lol brother.. they just got another, slightly better, Kris Letang. The team doesn't need spots to fill in that category. They need younger players. No disrespect to the legends still on the roster but man, time to young up a little in order to be a Stanley Cup contender. They mind as well just start a hard rebuild at this point. Karlsson is a great defenseman dont get me wrong. But not the answer that the team should be looking for atm and definitely doesn't automatically make them Cup contenders. Long road ahead.
Laviolette is another dinosaur coach who will soon be out of the league.
