Did we make the right decision keeping Elvis over Korpisalo? Time will tell, as the highs with him were high and the lows were low. NHL record holder with 85 saves in a playoff game, wish they could’ve won the game for him.

My favorite memory of him was seeing him absolutely kill it in the bubble. Great guy and loved the organization.

Definitely the 85 save game, but him and Foligno violently headbutting each other after wins till the training staff told them to quit it before somebody got a concussion is up there too haha.

I’ll also never forget that one post-game bench interview with Jody where he said « we’ve been working our asses off » and you could see the *total panic* in his eyes hit a second later as he realized he dropped profanity in front of a full arena and scrambled to apologize lmao.

Just an all around good dude. Really hoping he and Forsberg kill it in Ottawa this year.

  4. Early in the 2018-19 season, the management was giving Korpi plenty of looks to see if Bob would be expendable w/ his contract expiring. I can’t remember the exact game/opponent, but Korpi had what was probably his first truly great game as a Jacket, just stole a game the team had no business winning. In the post-game bench interview, he was asked how he felt after such a great performance. Korpi just said, « Well, that’s my job. » He is probably the most even-keeled goaltender I’ve ever seen. Not as talented as a lot of other goalies, but put forth a yeoman’s effort every game. I hope he has a nice, long NHL career.

My favorite memory was not when he played for us. He was just a young kid, playing in a small Jr Tournament for Finland. During the time, Saros was the go to goalie in everyone’s eyes, Korpi played and did absolutely fantastic. Always loved an underdog and Korpi imo has always been one. No matter what team he plays for, I’ll always give him a watch. Damn sad he is gone.

For us, it has to be our overtime game with his 80+ saves

Standing with a Kroger Kid Started and Korpi made some small talk with me and the kid for a second at the end of the bench. None of the players usually say anything so that was pretty neat.

His 85 save game against Tampa in the Covid cup.

That time he set a League record for shots saved in a single game…

Also, that time he ordered breakfast from my wife’s restaurant.
