There’s the sound, hopefully a better result than earlier but some of the youngsters looked good.

  2. Hand_of_Thrawn

Love Elvis’ new cage, looks awesome. There’s a full view of it on the hockey Reddit

So nice seeing Texier back on the ice in a CBJ jersey

  4. SteinerFifthLiner

    NICE SHOOTIN’, TEX! 😀

  5. sixinchitalian

    Tex, Fantilli, Laine goes hard

  6. dadstrength

Laine and Fantilli look great together so far. Really hope this carries over to the regular season

  7. ddottay

Fantilli on the PP1. That speaks volumes about how he’s practicing.

for anyone whining about the feed: it’s the in-arena video from the Jumbotron just mashed with the radio broadcast. They’re completely separate and this web broadcast is mostly unmonitored. Once you accept that it is a free preseason broadcast, you will have a fine viewing experience.

This stream is so much smoother than the earlier game.

If Mateychuk doesn’t make the team we have to send him back to Junior, correct?

He looks to me like the best of the young D we have. On par with Jiricek, IMO.

Damn poor Elvis on that one. Played the cross ice pass just for bjork to block the pass.

  12. Seattlekrakenlegend

I think Mateychuk looks great out there. After watching Boqvist and Jiricek earlier today, he’s definitely making smarter decisions.

  13. ddottay

Fantilli and Laine have some natural chemistry thus far

Fantilli is a beast. Unbelievable compete level and skill combination.

Loving Mateychuk. I’ve been high on him since before the ’22 draft and think he has an opportunity to be a special player. Smooth, skilled, excellent skater, and makes those sneaky veteran plays like setting « legal » picks by using his body correctly.

    Future is bright.

  15. 43goalie

Let’s take a moment to thank Anaheim for whiffing on Fantilli.

  16. Notes so far.

Negative: We’re going even against an AHL caliber team.

Positive: Fantilli is just as dominant in this as in traverse city.

  17. ddottay

The thing that I’m most excited about Fantilli is how decisive he looks with the puck. Even if he makes a mistake, he’s not worried about it. He knows what he wants to do and does it, he doesn’t overthink himself into a turnover. Yes this is not a « real game » but it’s nice to see!

I really hope that 91 and 13 start to move their legs as the season goes on. I get that they can stick handle their way out of a phone booth, but man you’re going to have such a better chance at net if you can keep skating and beat the defense on breakaways.

  19. RedditShhhmeddit

Johnson hasn’t looked as sharp today as I hoped he would

  20. Infranto

Fantilli is just so effortlessly good, I think he starts at 1C if he looks like this in the rest of the preseason

  21. AlanLGuy

Dumais isn’t ready for the NHL. Really hope they get that waiver. He needs AHL minutes badly. KJ and Johnny are struggling tonight. Mateychuck has been surprisingly good

  22. ddottay

“My proudest career accomplishment was my first goal as a Blue Jacket”

Johnny knows how to play to a crowd lol

  23. 43goalie

I know it’s super early to ask for lineup jumbles but damn do I want to see Mateychuk with Severson.

  24. sixinchitalian

    NUMBER SIXTY NINEEEEEE JORDAN DUMAIIIISSSS

  25. AeroBlack33

Really liked what we saw from Fantilli, Texier, and Mateychuk.

    Thoughts:

Fantilli is so NHL ready that it’s not even funny. He doesn’t look like or play like a rookie. He’s an absolute fucking monster.

Mateychuk looked way better than I thought he would. Like, really good.

    Fuck yeah, Texier.

Hope Dumais gets the waiver because he needs to get stronger and learn how to play against men so he can stay on the puck. If he can do that, I really think he could be something special. Hoping Gaudreau can offer just the smallest bit of tutelage as an undersized, very good player.
