I thought he was a decent pick, but the reality is he wasn't playing for a spot tonight. It was just a chance to evaluate the talent and see where he is so the team can get an idea on a development plan for him. He'll go back to London (OHL/CHL) to play the season out. He might get a cup of coffee with the Marlies during the playoffs, but that's even unlikely as London tends to play deep in the playoffs. And this is all fine. There's no reason to rush him. Let him grow, get bigger, stronger and move up the ranks of player size and skill so he is better prepared to play in the NHL, even if that means another 2-3 years. It will do him good in the long run. I feel Nick Robertson may have been rushed a bit and it's really hurt him in terms of development and income (on a personal level).
