Great example of a goalie that could have been destined for greatness but was hampered by the failings of a rebuilding team.

Great player. Maybe it’s just straight copium but if we started him in one of the games in Boston in the 2011 final i think we would have won the cup.

Holy crap, I thought he retired years ago

  4. Assuming Edler doesn’t sign with anyone this season, there will be a grand total of 1 active player left in the NHL from the 2011 team. Chris Tanev.

Great career. Guy played over a decade in the league and got in over 400 games. Made almost USD$60M.

    The Schneids.

If we start him in Game 6, Canucks win the Cup.

I still remember standing in a crowded Kahunaville in St. Catharines, Ontario watching him get his first start against the Flames. University students all around drunk and dancing, me starring up at the lone TV playing the game.

I remember the excitement of him being the first true « home grown » goalie in my life as a Canucks fan. The start of the run of him, Lack, Markstrom, Demko…always having a « next one » in the pipeline after so many years as the « goalie graveyard ».

Great memories from that era. This is still such a classic of how much fun those teams were: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEmfQh2Q6MY
