1. It looks like about 10 Islander regulars were out. I saw about 4 or 5 Ranger regulars were scratched. Was that how many Ranger regulars were missing? Also Palmieri gets on my nerves. He seems to get hurt a lot or he is upset about his wife's pregnancy. He should have been benched more in the 21-22 season. The point is that he has really been disappointing since he came here. The only exception was the 21 playoffs. Hopefully he heals his body and gets 20 goals which is what his salary requires.

  2. Nice to see dufour score. I hear maggio didn't look out of place out there. Maggio a player. I've been telling y'all that since last season. Unfortunately dufour and maggio could light it up all pre-season and still get the ticket to ahl. Too bad they'll have to wait it out until some of you know who's bad deals to his old slugs can be bought out. Could buy out palmeiri after this season. Lee, jpg-two more seasons before buy outs can occur.

  3. Worrying start of first period but otherwise decent start considering the context and premise.

  4. U can say it doesn’t matter Gil, but how many games did we see this team come out flat last year? I know it’s one game and these kids have NO shot at making this actual roster but I wonder who’s been beating a dead horse that these kids should be up playing with the big club? lol Dufour, durandeau,Hutton all looked like they belong to me. Another game tonight too make it three scrimmages in a row. It’s asinine to me how these preseason camps start now a days.

  5. First game, let's not over do it. Slow starts are our norm. Positives, Dufore look good. Maggio also looked comfortable. Although he took a few hits that shook him up a bit. Johnson had a good fight. Philly tonight

  6. Nice analysis. It was the first game with a rookie laden lineup against a team that was ready to play, so nothing to freak out about. There were a few things that stood out though.
    1) Yet another slow start, but whatever Lane is saying during these early timeouts is working. Perhaps he should start saying them during his pregame locker room comments.
    2) Varly wasn't ready. A juicy rebound for one goal, and he totally misplayed the Kreider goal. Way out of position. Too far out for a guy coming to the net.
    3) Ross can be a real bonehead. What did he accomplish with his bush league assault on Trocheck? A couple of soft face 'punches' for 4 minutes in the box? How stupid was that? Trocheck was laughing the whole time. He is still doing stupid things. IMO, send him down and make room for one of the older AHL guys who really played last night.
