  1. 100% agree… Some are capable to step on the ice with the Big Team and Zach appears to be one of them!

  2. Have to agree with this. The guy is great at both ends.

  3. He has the hockey IQ, but I’m still leaning towards he needs to get stronger and faster. I also wonder if it could get demoralizing if you’re a prospect in the AHL paying your dues and get surpassed on the depth chart by an 18-yr-old. Yes he is their top prospect. But not like he was 1OA. Just maybe a little concern I’d add on to him needing to getting stronger and faster. I’m sure the pros outweigh the cons – just enough hesitation where I wouldn’t rush him

  4. The 2 veterans the Sabres resigned this off season take up roster spots for young guys like Benson and other young guys looking for an opportunity to crack the lineup, let's see what direction the Sabres go with this

  5. Seeing these kids last night… kinda pissed me off that Sabres signed Girgensons and Okposo to 1 yr contracts. They are using up roster spots for these young kids to come up and make a difference.

  6. The effort by Benson was amazing. His effort off the puck equals if not surpases his play with the puck. Will be surprised if he isnt on the roster opening night.

  7. I think Mr. Benson is showing us why he was a steal at our position in the draft. I only wish we could see Savoie as well, but Injuries happen… I think both may get at least 5-8 regular season games to prove themselves before Adams/Granato make the decision to send them back to WHL play. The only quesiton I have.. who gets bumped to make room for them on the big clubs roster… injuries may make that easy… but sometimes they don't

  8. I 100% think that Benson will, and justifiably so, get the 9 game look. If he plays as well in those games as he has during the preseason so far, I believe his NHL career should start this year.

  9. Here’s my prediction. If Benson makes it past his 9 games, I see him filling in at Quinn’s spot until December/January when he’s ready to return. At the same time, I see GMKA moving Olofsson out of town for anything he can get in return, then slide Benson onto the Mittlestadt line in his place.
