George was only ohl/nhl eligible anyway so unless he was gonna get a 9 game look that was the right move. He going back to a loaded london team that is ohl favorite with the ohl's best d group who will have a long run this season well into late may so let the kid get some more playoff experience for a knights team that lost in ohl final last spring. Playing in big games is better than rotting on nhl bench/press box. George isn't eligible for ahl now until his eligibility ends with knights season. It would be nice if dufour or maggio could steal a spot and put holmstrom in ahl but we know logical moves don't register with you know who. Maybe palmieri will get ltir'd opening a roster spot for a young guy. btw lou keep an eye on george's teammate s. dickenson. He could be available in the first next draft-if isles keep the first.
IMO, George will need a couple of years to develop into an NHL'er. Watching all the Ranger prospects perform against the Devils explains why the Rangers let Julien Gauthier go, and here we are hoping he can improve our depth. That fact just underlines how pathetic our prospect pool is under Yoda.
Getting 70+ games out of Palms (or Clutter) would be a miracle. Lane had the courage to push a popular player like Bailey out of the lineup because it had to happen. I hope he has the same mindset with those 2. Palms does some things I like, but he just isn't a top 6 forward anymore and is a little lacking in the 2-way game. Start easing he and Clutter out and Gauth, Dufour and Holmstrom in
I’m not one to complain about what Lou has done, the runs to successive conf finals was an amazing job. I’m willing to see what happens this season. Just wish we had a rookie to get excited about. That player who comes in straight after the draft.
Hi Gil! Enjoy the weekend boys—tonight’s Isles/Rags game postponed till tomorrow because of major floods! I am very excited about Dufor, Durandeau and even Gauthier from what you e said Gil and what I’ve read. Gil imagine if the latter is to us, what the other kid is to the Panthers now—kid we gave up on—his name escapes me. Gil it’s a shame—-Matty, Clutter and Palms are close to done. Those 3 kids I feel would give our core a major boost and become possibly part of the core. If that were to occur—then we’re really cooking! The team needs an influx of youth, speed and hunger. If we’re not going to be a “Sandpaper” team, then we need to fly and score. Sandpaper can be acquired come TDL. However, watch Louless trade all three in a major package to win now! Like a Marner or Nylander. It’s a double edge sword—-I’ll be honest—if these kids pan out—-I’d rather keep them—-they will be cheap and they will fortify our future and all of a sudden—-the sun is shining instead of doom and gloom.
