what vision and pass by Kovacevic too!
It was a set play from the previous play. Guhle did the same backdoor play but Kovacevic shot it instead of passing. There’s a play stoppage and you can see Guhle going towards Kovacevic to tell him he was open. Then next play Guhle goes backdoor again and Kovacevic puts it right on his tape.
Amazing on ice communication.
Sure it was a set play but Guhle needed to receive that on the backhand cleanly and stickhandle to get the puck onto his blade really quickly to get off a good shot.
It’s plays like this that make me feel optimistic about Guhle. This requires skill and talent to pull off. A less talented player may have bobbled the puck or been too slow to get a good shot.
Who said Newhook couldn’t win faceoffs? That was cleanly won. 6/8, 75% last night.
If that pass misses or shot is saved its 4 on 1 the other way lol
