Edmonton told him he was being released from his PTO and he realized it was the end of the road. Good on Brandon for getting back on the ice at all. It’s a shame he couldn’t crack a lineup as a 4th line C.

Wishing him all the best in retirement. A truly genuine and friendly human being. I miss having him as a neighbour haha
stepharee
That’s a shame, I was rooting for him 🙁 happy retirement Brandon!
Young2k04
That really sucks. This is also crazy since he just played against us yesterday. Hope he’s healthy and can live a normal life after hockey

Had to love the Brandon interview a few days ago. Thanked the Canucks organization and fans, mentioned his kids being born here and that the city is special…
Just all class from Sutter, I’ll tell you that for free.
Ok_Philosopher_2301
I’m still sore about trading Bonino for him…
Captain_JT_Miller
Canucks should find a role for him somewhere

Enjoy your retirement man. You’ve earned it.

All the best

Well glad he played his last game in Rogers Arena last night. Enjoy retirement!

Last game was in Vancouver. Fitting.

Good luck in retirement, sutts. Throwback to his plane interviews from a few years back: https://youtu.be/9WCU1lZds30

That just sucks, super nice guy off ice and very skilled, he was well worth the money when he was fully healthy, hate it when players are forced to retire due to illness
Miruzzz
Yesterdays loss got him like
freightfright
Other than the fact that this guy had unfair expectations placed on him due to the trade assets they gave up, and despite his injury history, Sutter was the perfect 3C. Wishing him all the best, and fuck long-COVID

I was never a fan, but wish him all the best.
ProphetofElias
I was always a big supporter of his. Will be interesting to see what he does next, a Sutter never truly leaves hockey.
DisplacedNovaScotian
That really sucks. Hope his health can get back to 100% as soon as possible. Long covid is no joke.
AllthingskinkCA
Anyone else remember how good he was in the bubble. He finally had the chance to show us what he was meant to be. Happy retirement.
hangoverpho
At least he gave it one more shot (pun intended)
GangreneMachine
Shitty way for him to end a pretty decent career. He never really lived up to that contract or his last name, but you never want to see anyone go out like this.
The_Forsaken_Viola
Where’s that video of Matt Murray calling Brock Boeser’s hat trick lucky, but it’s edited with Brandon Sutter’s hat trick?
CovertCoat
Would love to involve him in the organization somehow, he’s got a great hockey mind
julesieee
He just couldn’t keep up playing against Petey last night. Maybe he’ll be part of coaching, scouting, or upper mgmt in some capacity. If there’s room for him in the Canucks org, that would be great.
Darkmania2
part of me feels like making a sparky comment like « thanks truckers convoy » but I’ll be nice and just wish Sutter the vest in his retirement.
goodbye9hello10
It always sucks to see good players and better people get their careers derailed by injury. Wish him all the best, and props for giving it one last hurrah.
