Another great video, thanks! To keep it short, no! Othmann has what it takes and will most likely play top 6 or top 9 in the future but not to start the season.IMHO. Cuylle is an interesting choice for a shut down line right now but I think both will do better to start the season in Hartford.
I don’t think it benefits this team if either one of them make OD roster. However, I believe both of them will be on the New York rangers at one point or another this year. They are better developed in the AHL especially considering that you have two forwards that are looking for their opportunity to grow into bigger roles this year. I believe you have to let things play out first, and you always can add down the road.
Vesey is not physical enough to be on the 4th line. i'll rather see othmann and cuylle play over him
I have a bad feeling the fans are going to be disappointed with Othmann. Not because he's a bad player, but because he's been so hyped up that it's going to be very difficult for him to meet expectations.
Anything is possible; but don’t be in a rush to grow up! Enjoy each stage of life.
I'd only like to see the young players get a roster spot if their actively part of the 20 man roster. Teams can have a 23 man roster but can only dress 20 players. So if the young prospects have to be in the reserve roll where they really only get to practice with the team would not be a good idea. I'd rather the prospects that just miss making the roster and play on the Wolfpack so they can still get more game experience for a full season.
Both have been better than Lafreniere.
Othmann has winner written all over him.
It's a matter of harnessing more than nurturing for Othmann.
Small sample size for sure, but he seems to really have his head in the game.
Hopefully Laf feels Othmann and Cuylle breathing down his neck and he takes the next step, which would increase his trade value.
By the deadline I think they wind up trading Laf.
Othmann knows he's an NHL player, it's just a matter of when.
He's WAY more ready for the NHL than Laf and Kakko were when they got spots on the big club. He obviously can't be in the NHL getting 4th line minutes and they feel Cuylle is more suited for the 3rd line. Although I'd love to see Oth on the 3rd line with Trocheck.
Just a matter of time for Othmann.
