FFS we are NOT trading for a goaltender

A starting goaltender injury at the beginning of the season is rough. There will be more than a few teams considering shoring up between the pipes if any of their training camp netminders fail to meet expectations. Good time of the year to have a surplus of goalies -not so much of you need/want one. Asking price will for average skill will be steep…and if you don’t take it some other team probably will.

Yea nah. Trading 2 picks and a depth piece just for a mediocre goalie who will sit on the bench once vasy returns? I’m good.

hilarious that people are just foaming at the mouth to dump their fodder goalie to tampa like vasy’s going to be out the entire season. he’s out for 2 months, not dead

The last paragraph of the article is the most crucial. I don’t think the Lightning trade for a goalie. If anything, we work waivers. Pick up someone with a bit more experience then one of JoJo or Thompkins is the backup (leaning towards Jo). Especially with Vasi potentially being moved to LTIR, should give us plenty of room.

No, he can’t, every goalie the Flames touch turns to garbage.

    If we’re talking trade…

    * We can offer ABB, Jeannot, and Myers.

    * Vasi LTIR should provide cap space and then we dump when he returns.

    * picking up an old guy (Elliot, Halák) could be good as insurance

… however I don’t think we’ll actually trade anything. We’re all in with Johansson.

What about Johannnason? He just posted b2b shutouts.

This is better than the article saying we would trade Stammer for a goalie, but it’s still a fire dumpster.
