I said in a reply to someone else but I'll reiterate – Lohrei is not a 3rd pair guy. My dude eats minutes; sheltering him on a 3rd pair will do him no favors. At OSU, this kid played over half of the game most nights, including over 40 minutes in the regional final loss to the eventual champs. If he isn't a top 4 guy now, let him be your top LD in Provy for a season and develop him there. This team is okay on the left side until they move on from Gryz.
btw Gryz had a quietly excellent effort tonight. Wish you had brought him up a bit more, especially after being criminally snubbed in the postseason. Still holding out hope that he gets traded to somewhere that actually appreciates him.
Caps have new bench boss Spencer Carberry. Remember that name. We'll be hearing it again. Been warning the Eastern conference. Don't count out the Caps. They also have a healthy Max pacioretty.
I dont understand the vitriol towards Pasta. Pasta is in mid season form! 10 turnovers, lackluster defense, and needs the other 4 players doing hard work. If he scores 60 again, just leave him alone. He will win you the same games he will cost you.
So this is what pisses me off about these rookie camps and preseason . There useless cause the bruins do not bring up the best players we have seen Beecher / Lohrei/ poitras be better then there counter parts and we know what is gonna happen they’ll all be sent down.
I don’t remember you mentioning Heinen. He’s come a long way on his PTO. Do we think he’s earned a contract? I think he’s easily shown up more than guys like Brown or Boqvist.
Absolutely right about Lysell. I mean look at how long it took Debrusk to come into his own. He would've cracked 30 goals last season if he didn't get hurt during the winter classic, that he had TWO GOALS IN
Ian man, the play in question by Lohrei (Washingtong's 3rd goal) he made the play to break up the rush. Milano was trying to pass it and Lohrei broke it up. Puck just bounced right back to Milano. Really can't criticize the kid for that one.
The trend of Forbort sucking really started back in the playoffs last year. They should have gotten rid of the guy in the off season while other teams still think he’s a good defenseman
One thing Bruins fans should consider is Poitras situation in the OHL. He's in a very good situation in Guelph. They're a OHL cup contender and he's a projected top six for this years WJC. Maybe give him a few regular season games but then send him back to Guelph and play big games there.
Interesting tidbit about him… i know of kids who avoid him during Guelph Storm meet-n-greets because of his attitude.
my hockey seasons never been the same since i found your channel , cant tell you how much i enjoy these breakdowns and your sense of humor. keep em coming man, cheers!
I thought OT was fine as coaches were letting the kids try to play against the Caps' seasoned vets in pressured situations, just to see how they would do, while Ullmark was bailing them out. There were a few times where I jokingly thought: "Or, this is a microcosm of what Bruins' games will be like this year, with B's barely hanging on in each game only because of Ullmark as opposing teams take advantage of inexperienced/incompetent Bruins skaters." I always expect Bruins to win, so if they suck this year, it will be such a bummer, lol
Even from Poitras' first preseason game against Buffalo, he's not looked out of place on NHL ice. Last night's OT was something else, but he comes back a little better every time he's been experienced some tough shifts…
I really wish that we could have Bergeron coach/mentor the young centers like Poitras and Beecher on all aspects of their 200-foot game; both ON and OFF the ice (i.e. how to prepare, perform and behave like a world-class player)
If all that comes out of this preseason is that a couple of these peospects are way ahead of schedule and possibly WAY better than we realized, I think that is not a bad situation at all given the Bruins current context. I have nor exactly been inspired by the play of some of our regulars, but I won’t sound any alarms yet of course. I think it’s time for Marchy and the coaching staff to sit down with Pasta and have a serious discussion about bringing a professional effort to the rink every night…I find the lack of effort on the back check to be totally unacceptable for a player of his ability and pay grade. It directly contributes to this team losing games on a consistent basis. Other than that, I think this team will not require a massive rebuild of any sort.
Sabres 4 life ,lets go this season we don't miss the playoffs by a point ,I can say this because we the Buffalo Sabres have upgraded in net , No? Yes ,yes we have can't wait to watch em play you guys and Ugz ,I think Eichel should be a Bruin do you remember when Tkuchuk gave him a labodameee?in the finals what a moment in time
Tkachuk said he was excited to watch Boston this season to "see how they follow that one up". Is it just me or is the series still bothering you guys to this day? I don't think ill be over it until we get far again.

Lauko deserve good words working his ass hard play with energy and speed
