  1. I think he might evaluate precisely, what he is capable of because I'm Sure He wants to fulfil any contract with his Pens.
So it might be another 3-4 years

  2. This game is not about money for Sid, he is one person who will sacrifice $ for🏆🏒

  3. out of towners dont know this but no player in the nhl loves to play as much as crosby ! he will continue to play until he loses interest

  4. Being in your late 30s now has a hockey player isn’t the same as it was back in the 80s or the 90s players have the ability to stay healthy much longer than they used to

  5. I have so much respect for Sid. He may not have a lot of personality and his best years are certainly behind him but he seems like a very genuine and sincere guy. Just seems like a good dude on top of being one of the best hockey players of all time 🤷🏻‍♂️👏

  6. Kopitar is another player who is worth the money even in his "older" age. If the Kings can commit long term to Kopi for less, then the Penguins definitely should commit to Crosby for a full price.

  7. lebron james is turning 39, tom brady played in his 40s. dont see why crosby cant do it too

  8. Sid will take 8.7 because of superstition and his dedication to the team. He’s not going to sacrifice success for money like matthews marner and mcdavid

  9. Colby Armstrong said something along the lines of “Crosby trains like there is a league above the NHL”. Gretzky had 9 goals (62pts) in 70 games his last year. I think Sid is going to play until he isn’t productive anymore… which may be somewhere around 2093

  10. Add your thoughts on this below but i think a 5 year 11 mill per deal would be great for both sides .. if he get hurt ltir him hes worth it in my brain

  11. "Dubas is a smart guy, I am sure he wouldn't go out and give 37 year old Crosby a five or six year deal"?
Is he? Wouldn't he? You are sure? Based on???

  12. I can't believe the Pens kept him year after year for just $8.7 mil. How much more of a discount will he take?

  13. They should just give him 8×8.7 and let him retire whenever he wants. The dead cap hit will only help with rebuild.

  14. Crosby has always taken a salary well below than what he’s deserved. Even when he was the best player in the league he was getting paid well below many other players in the league

  15. Guys like Crosby don't stick around once they feel they're no longer helping the team. He walks away if he ever drops below a point per game pace.

  16. This is the last year that the Pens can make a run. That core will be too old next year and no young talent coming up behind them.

  17. if Crosby stays in shape he could easily play until his early to mid 40s. I mean, after these two years, he will be 38. Whats to stop him from playing 4-5 more years after that if he wanted to? You think Pittsburgh won't sign him ?? After turning their franchise around in 2005, they are pretty much forced to allow this dude do whatever he wants. Imagine crosby playing for 6-7 more seasons? insane.

  18. clearly you're a crosby lover. the league has moved way past him just like it did wayne gretzky

  19. Still a top 5 player for me, and I'm an islanders fan who absolutely hates him. But if you ask me who I want in a playoff series, he is still top 5. Still dominant each time he takes a shift

  20. The penguins aren't winning anymore cups in the crosby era lol. As much as I dislike crosby due to his whiny attitude and other things, I am a big enough man to admit he is the total package who I would want on my team any day and is obviously a proven winner. Of course the league is evolving but I don't disagree a playoff matchup against his 2 biggest rivals either his number 1 rival in Ovechkin of the caps or number 2 rival in Stamkos of the Lightning would be kinda sick to see. I mean these 3 guys are the biggest faces of their generation and we saw what all 3 men can do when going up against each other during the 2010s decade and reliving those hardcore matchups would be neat to see one last time because we all know how soft the NHL has become within the 2020s compared to the 2010s when the game was actually intense and not one sided.

  21. He's Sid "The Kid" Crosby. So he's going to be around for a while. I see him taking a 6 year deal for 6 million a year. He's worth way more but he wants to win so I hope he takes a discount contract.

  22. I'm still hoping against hope that when Jagr finally decides to retire in 25 years, he'll sign a one-day contract with the Pens.

  23. He'll fall off a cliff this year. Now that I've jinxed it, watch him go off and get 100 points. Or maybe he'll fall off a cliff for a couple years, have a career resurgence for a couple years, then fall off a cliff again.

  24. I think Crosby CAN get 100+ points this year. But we'll see. I hope he plays at least 7 more seasons. That would be 25 total, and I think he could be the second player to surpass 2000 NHL points if he plays as long as Mark Messier did.

  25. It was the playoff series year before last and man. Crosby vs the Rangers was something else. He single handedley was beating the Rangers before Trouba’s flying elbow

  26. He’s a pen for life. A first ballot HOFer.
And the organisation will let him play as long as he wants.

  27. Penguin's are still bad and with dubas running things now LMAO good luck.

  28. Jagr tier? Buddy, Sid is HOWE tier. Dude will be going hard for another 10 years, at least.

  29. Crosby still has a few years of good hockey left. But Jagr was built like an absolute horse. I think Ovechkin has the same physical edge that Jagr had but Crosby does not. Would be shocked if Sid is still playing at 40.
