  1. Seems like people think I’m trying to knock Connor Bedard here… Not the case at all.

If you watch the full video, you would know that the coaching staff has been working with Connor on simplifying aspects of his game in pre-season. The shootout is just one example of his tendency to do such things.

It isn’t a bad thing either! As he gets used to the NHL, he will learn how to pick & choose his spots more effectively.

He’s 18, it’s pre-season. We know it doesn’t matter. The kid is going to make a ton of mistakes & likely get scrutinized for it. Hence, why I think his biggest obstacle is not his decision making, but rather how he will handle the ups & downs of an NHL season with all eyes on him.

  2. The media is going to kill this kid. It's only the preseason and I'm already tired of hearing about him. Athanasiou scores a game winner in OT and all the internet can talk about is his assist. His team gets blown out 6-1 and he had no points but all the internet can talk about is a slick move he did. They need to get out of his crack and let him play. The media is the reason why I'm actually happy to see him miss this shot.

  3. Once he settles in he is gonna kick ass. He just doing little too many moves but he has tons of skill. He ll be fine. Probably more then fine.

  4. Dude had Fleury beat just didn’t tuck it in. No big deal. Fleury intentionally tripping players is a bit odd.

  5. “Learning what he can and can’t get away with”… this exactly! The calibre of players in the NHL is a big step up from where he played. Some of these slick moves just won’t work on even semi-experienced nhl players. He’ll figure it out and I’m sure he’ll figure it out quickly.

  6. Well he may be great but two issues at play. Just an opinion.
1 Respect is earned 2 The Hawks winning the draft lottery when they were in need for a super star hurts the draft lottery credibility that much more. The behind the doors draw
    Is a crock of poo.

  7. What happened was the ice was junk!! Pucks were bouncing and players were falling all night..It's amazing that no one got hurt

  8. I find that Fleury acted like a jerk! Tripping 2 players? I really hopes that Bedard score as many goals as possible against Fleury,
so Fleury would humble up !

  9. funny that Zegras has been a total ass….but American…and all the US media talk about is how good he is….arrogance does't work long term in hockey

  10. Yeah the media always has an agenda, it can be love or hate depending on the politics. I sense it will be big time hate for bedard

  11. I think he needs to be free creatively as sometimes those “extra” moves coaches don’t want players doing are what makes the player so dynamic in the first place nobody will succeed 100% of the time and it may look bad when it doesn’t work
