Matt Colorado will ask for a trade after getting smoked twice and seeing nobody sticking up for him lmao.

Bluger is really fuckin good. Loved our bottom 6 and PK

  3. Ruilin96

Lol pissed off Markstrom was the highlight for me

Welp, hope the regular season looks pretty much exactly like that… that was a clinic.

Excellent fucking game. Quenched a lot of my concern.

Except the Soucy injury reared the biggest concern we’ll have this season. Our AHL depth is *bad*. Calling any of them up is not a good situation to be in.

Pretty solid game. PP looked good, could of had one or two with a bit more luck. Really hope that soucey is all good, though

The number of turnovers the Canucks capitalized on today was amazing

  8. Really good game. Two of our top 6 were sick but Garland did a good job defensively on the line to cover for Kuz. Blueger is a beast and I honestly think our PK/D improvement could be huge. Myers shockingly had a great game. PDG is really showing up for us and I hope we see this from him in regular season.

Gonna need to see the Garland/EP/Kuz line one more time when they’re healthy but third line wasn’t as aggressive without Garland so he might be back on it for opening night.

It’s so refreshing to have a true bottom 6. Not just defensive plugs that eat minutes, but legitimate secondary scoring depth that still kill penalties and and hold things down defensively

Someone please tell me Soucy’s gonna be okay…please!

  11. Bottom 6 guys were incredible. We’re so good at clogging up the middle now and their breakouts were just getting smothered. Our PK looks siiiick. Our PP looks saaaaad

Go back to our old PP if we must they were 6th in the league last year.

Over all vvvvvv Impressed with how everything came together.

PDG deserves his spot. Well earned.

    GG Calgary

Kuz showing support, nice cause he wasn’t all 😀 tonight

So that’s what functioning team systems looks like. Tons of praise for Suter and Bleuger tonight. Hronek was solid, Hughes was Hughes, Demko made some big saves. And wtf we didn’t have to rely on our power play to score, the secondaries got goals. Hell even Juulsen looked good. Cole looks like a seasoned vet.

And there was no panic! That was the biggest take away, the team seems poised. Tocchet is getting this shit straightened out thank god.

There were moments were the Flames looked lost, similar to how the Canucks played all last year. Cautiously optimistic guys.

It’s really refreshing seeing how we can effectively plug up the neutral zone, actually steal the puck, advance into their zone, and actually get some good rushes and time in the offensive zone!

Our defensive system looked really good. Taking away pucks, short passes, then instantly attack. Bottom 6 looked good now. Suter, Blueger, Aman, Joshua, Beauvillier, Studnicka. Hoglander might have to sit awhile unfortunately.

Pretty whelmed with the pre season. Can’t be too mad, but kinda have PTSD from our slow start last year. Hopefully we get our shit together in our first game.

  17. I think the biggest takeaway here is despite the Soucy injury, Myers just barely cracked 18 minutes; 4th among defensemen, and just 7 seconds more than Juulsen. Evidently, it was one of Myers’ better games.

  18. GangreneMachine

DiGiuseppe is a player. Definitely deserves a spot with that production

  19. jackfrench9

Does anyone happen to have the stats on how much time the puck spent in our end of the ice? Felt like it was at least 60/40 our way.

Well, Soucy taking that fall right before regular season hurts. Just glad he was able to put pressure on the leg and skate afterwards. Looks like something he’ll recover from quickly, but you never know with falls like that.

Now might be the time to look at the waiver wire. Bjork seems like the best target.
