  1. idk, I don't really care about how many preseason games there are currently. Sure 20 games is too many, but honestly it doesn't change much if it's 4 or 8. Big guys are going to play a couple games, young guys are going to play a lot of games. Injuries are inevitable, it's why you sit your big guys.

  2. It’s nice to see salary cap moves based more on skill reasons, less than contract reasons. Good problems to have!

  3. The phrase "I don't think I'll see the Leafs win a cup in my lifetime" is getting a lot more real.

  4. Bertuzzi-Matthews-Marner
    Domi-Tavares-Nylander
    Knies-Minten-Järnkrok
    Lafferty-Kämpf-Reaves
(extras: N. Robertson, N. Gregor if signed)

    Rielly-Brodie
    McCabe-Klingberg
    Giordano-Liljegren

    Samsonov
    Woll
Jones – use if Sammy is hurt

  5. Steve: I've been working on stuff.

Me: yeah? Where's the latest trade tree, Steve?

  6. Domi's gonna be a massive disappointment. Already looking forward to Steve reacting every time he gets bumped off the puck with ease then goes and cheap shots the guy who bumped him off, resulting in a 10 minute penalty.

  7. Man it’s tough, I think jones is going to have a bounce back season, and play super good if he remained a leaf, he was better than samsonov in this preseason and it wasn’t close in my opinion. Lafferty I’m ok with losing since we have guys like Robertson, Minton, Gregor, holmberg that can take his spot. I personally really like Gregor, he has been playing great in every game. I think he’d be better for us than jarnkrok on a 3rd or 4th line. Kampf as 4th line centre is great responsible depth but his salary for a 4th line centre doesn’t make sense. Very tough decisions

  8. I love the passion Steve keep making the videos my friend. I hope Fraser Minten makes the team and plays with Matthew Knies GO LEAFS GO

  9. I think it's time to offer Brodie a trade out or buy him out. We need that cap space and have plenty of depth and youth to start bringing up

  10. Great video Steve, Looking forward to viewing them all this season. I'm a leafs fan here in Scotland, there are a few over here in the UK. Hoping to get across at some point to take in a game or two. Go Leafs Go
    This is our season..

  11. Our D core needs so much work, it be nice to flip some of those pieces for a couple defensemen.

Atm we have too many of the same type of player on the back end

  12. Leafs are a regular season contender along with several other teams. Before/At trade deadline (Sooner the better) Leafs need to add a top 4 nasty like D who's responsible defending. Secondary scoring has more potential this year, along with a more balanced top six/nine lineup where each line possibly has someone to muck it up . How Keefe finally settles the 3rd and 4th line, as well as distributes ice time, will be telling with coach's ability to manage the overall lineup.

Goaltending is a bit of a mystery, but not negatively so. Samsonov should easily be able to repeat another good season considering the experience in front of him, and Woll presented very well in the small sample size of playoff games. At this point, I'm not aware of any ongoing/glaring issues with each of their games outside the need for consistency, but surely there's improvement needed where it's not a make or break for their career.

It seems overall team confidence is much less an issue with the core this year. They know they are elite and will make the playoffs. Leafs are simply this good. Now that Tampa/Boston have taken a step back, Leafs seemingly have a clear path for great regular season success as well as a damn good shot of again getting out of the 1st round and making a longer overall run for the cup come playoffs.

  13. When 3 players account for 39% of the Cap,I don't see how you can build a Stanley Cup caliber roster around those three (Matthews,Tavares & Marner = $33,543,250)

  14. I’m not as worried about the opening roster, as much as I just want the damn goal song changed!

  15. It will be particularly interesting with how this version of the Leafs handle more hard nosed forchecking teams this season. Also want to see evidence with Keefe's understanding of in game nuances at an elite NHL level of coaching.

  16. I am really against waiving Lafferty. I think his speed and tenacity is very good and his skill is underrated. I really think he could fit in on any line. I really dont get it, hes a valuable player and is a playoff style guy. Id honestly rather have him than Jarnkrok considering playoff value.

  17. To answer your questions at the end…. yes, yes, yes, probably, yes of course!!

  18. Side note are you doing hockey night with Steve dangle again this year? Nice to watch the game with you. Thanks for the videos guys

  19. I thought Steeves looked good when he was on the ice too….Hes definately going to get some call ups

  20. More of this and less of the other 90min+ podcast please (seriously, sdpn or what ever, way to long and way too much blabla(!!))

  21. If we have to wave lafferty so we can dress Reaves I’m gonna lose my mind

  22. I predict:
    Martin Jones waived (claimed)
    Ryan Reaves waived (clears)
    Bobby McMann traded.
