  1. Note: Holloway is WAIVERS EXEMPT so he could have gone down with ZERO penalty and we could have kept one of the three (probably Lavoie) BUT they went this way. Happy Thanksgiving. Take care all.

  2. All three could be claimed. But today's crop of players make things really interesting.

  3. Pederson and Gleason were signed during the off-season, there is no real loss here. Lavoie has size and is just above NHL foot speed. 16 teams have the cap space to claim Lavoie but 4 of those teams are sitting at 47 or 48 contracts. It really sucks that Niemelainen got injured during pre-season, or else I think one of those 3 will stay with the group.

  4. So with the exception of Connor Brown we are the same team from last year basically.

All I can say thank God were learning finally to play better team defense.

    Just my opinion!

    GO OILERS GO

  5. everything has to be perfect for the Oilers to do as well as last year. In a 32 team league it is never cup or bust. Too many things have to go right to go past the 3rd round.

  6. Gleason played well. Lavoie may get picked up. Strange times. Thanks for the update

  7. Gleason? Ouch! Hope he clears and stays. Doubt it. Some team will grab him. Vinnie brings size and toughness, but Gleason moves the puck a lot better and could, if needed, fill-in on the power play. Hope Lavoie finds a home with another NHL team. Bakersfield for Pederson? Have they learned to play better defense? We'll see. Otherwise, no chance at a Cup. Rather see a 2-1 victory than a 7-5 victory and that's any time of the year, regular season or playoffs. Have to be able to win those kinds of games. Can't always score your way to victory. 80's teams didn't win a Cup until they learned that.
