Both David Blitzer and Josh Harris are Jewish, which I feel like is important context. Commanders and Sixers also put out statements. Regardless of how you feel about politics related to the current situation (or LGBTQ rights, etc.), it’s good to remember that sports teams are just billionaires’ toy things. I see the comments on Devils Instagram and Twitter and it’s weird to see people criticizing the decision to release a statement when teams are literally owned by one or a handful of humans with their own thoughts and opinions and can’t possibly be neutral. I guess I don’t understand why sports are expected to be a politics-free, unbiased zone.

Hopefully there’s peace soon, but unlikely as Israel has been attacked by the surrounding countries and terrorist factions for their entire existence.

Well, I certainly don’t need another ticket package after this season.

What does Ja Rule have to say tho?

This is not a « both sides are wrong » situation.
Israel is and has been since its founding an apartheid state in which Arabs and Muslims have become second class citizens. The Gaza Strip is an open air prison and a form of collective punishment. Palestinian homes and livelihoods in the West Bank are routinely destroyed to make way for settlements that are illegal under international law. And it’s a sick irony that a group of people who were once targeted with extermination are quite literally doing the exact same thing to someone else.
I am literally disgusted with this. It’s like they’ve collectively decided to forget about Warsaw Uprisings and similar situations.
EDIT: Give me all of your downvotes. You’re literally supporting apartheid. That’s on your conscience, not mine.

Ok now let’s discuss who’s wrong or right in this situation. No better forum than this, a bunch of excited hockey fans from NJ, that are on a high because their team is awesome again.
I’ll start, Benjamin Netanyahu is…..

It’s fine if the owners hold that belief, but I’d prefer they didn’t comment on behalf of the organization.

Sad how some people feel the need to defend a group that indiscriminately murdered and kidnapped innocent civilians. Being sympathetic towards the struggles of the Palestinian people does not mean you also have to endorse terrorism.
