That’s surprising. I really thought they would try to get a haul for them at the deadline. Maybe they think with the haul they got from LA they have enough to compete for a playoff spot.
Actually really surprising they re signed. I was convinced we’d trade them at the deadline for nothing or they’d walk next summer.
Hellebuyck I understand but Schiefele I don’t get
Sign and trade at the deadline? Decent contracts for a couple years but don’t know what they will look like at the end of the contracts
Gotta feel nice to have those two stars locked down for a good long time, especially a great goalie like Hellebuck

I guess I’m just confused on what the Jets’ future plan is. I would’ve thought they would want to trade these guys, accrue some assets, and go into the draft with multiple first round picks to jump-start a rebuild. Maybe some Jets fans could help me out here.

I get keeping Hellebuyck, but Scheifele regressed hard last year in terms of his defensive play.
Figured the Jets might look to make a hockey trade to move him, but then again players might not be a fan of playing in Winnipeg so management might want to play it safe.
