Sports entities randomly chiming in on this is so weird.

So long as they aren’t gay, let’s play.

Virtue signalling at its best.

Im so glad they mourned with Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, and so many others as well. Oh… and the Palestinians.
Fuck this selective virtue signaling bullshit from large corporations.
Ilkley_dipper
When will the Rockford IceHogs finally break their silence on this matter?

This is the modern world we’re living in, where simply expressing sympathy for civilians that were targeted in a brutal terrorist attack is something to be reprimanded and needs to come with a qualifier. Imagine on 9/11 people said we sympathize with America…..but remember all the bad foreign policy they had!
ObverseNebula
This isn’t a black and white issue, it’s completely possible to take an anti-Israel and anti-Palestinian/Hamas position.
Anyone supporting Hamas is either misinformed or shitty.
To anyone supporting Hamas, what do you say about their use of child suicide bombers?
You can’t use child suicide bombers and claim the other side are “the baddies”.
If you’re aligned with the sane and moral side of society, as unfortunate as it is, you would probably think this nullifies any argument Palestine has over ‘land rights’.
Recognising what Hamas have done and are doing, does not mean you have to fully endorse Israel and how it has treated Palestine
Both nations are objectively in the wrong, but both nations think they are right.

Why does a north American hockey league even need to comment on this?
WidePark9725
Israeli or Palestinian, it doesn’t matter. Hockey does not see race, religion, nationality, rich or poor, in the eyes of the game. We wish both sides can find common ground and learn to respect each other. We hope this message is an inspiration to all young hockey fans who will grow up and learn that anybody can play hockey so long as your not a fucking queer.

So they ban pride gear, probably because they don’t want politics mixing with sport. Then they do this.
JOJO_IN_FLAMES
This is one of the worst things about social media. Every company/celebrity/influencer/etc. feels obligated to make statements on every little thing that happens or else they are seen as condoning it.

Great to see. God bless 🇮🇱

This just in, Terminally Online Redditors getting mad at the NHL saying terrorism is bad.
The only people who have a problem with this statement are lurking terrorist sympathizers.
QuiGonJohn69
Same league that is banning Pride tape because some homophobes might get their feelings hurt? NHL is a joke
sirhellaz
Why does the NHL need to comment on Israel? Or any sport league for that matter?
chrlau90
Did they do the same for Ukraine?….hmmm… wonder why?
OhioUBobcats
Lol
Tucker897
Of course they do.

I thought everyone was supposed to stand with Palestine? Did things change are we rooting for Isreal now? I’m lost in the lore, help a brother out.

I expect his comment section to be rationale and reasonable

Shoutout to the NHL for always looking after those who are oppressed and suffering in the world today. I’m totally unrelated news, anyone with a rainbow anywhere will be exiled.
