Gonna be a long season if this team only wants to show up for 20 minutes of hockey again – like last year.

  2. take_tha_cannoli

starting off just like we ended, embarassed at home by the chicago blackhawks

  3. frosty_phoenix92

Not a good start but can’t win 82 games. Go beat the caps Friday.

  4. lebinott

This Bedard dick riding is insufferable, Jesus

  5. tinygaynarcissist

Welp lmao. See y’all on Friday.

  6. smackinov

Largest roster turnover in a long time but the coach and system remain the same. Same results.

  7. Pittsburghfan222

There’s nothing like a blown 3rd period lead to keep my hype and expectations in check for a new year. Some things just never change smh

  8. Gillkid615

Steelers should’ve taught me a damn lesson about getting my hopes up.

  9. Creasy007

So that was depressing. Can’t fuck up that bad every third period and expect to win though.

  10. BeansTheCoach

    I’m just here to overreact

Side note, sacking the coach mid season has worked more than once before 😏

  11. red_87

The sooner this fanbase realizes it’s Sullivan, the better. And it wasn’t just last season that this team had a difficult time holding on to multi-goal leads. Different players, same result. Coaches don’t normally stay with one team for this long in the NHL. There’s a reason why.

  12. Carolina_913

Defense sucks, no other way to put it. Offense looked ok, Jarry looked ok. Defense was nothing better than pylons

  13. SumGreenD41

Mrazek played really well. I think pens played well enough and earned a couple more goals but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

The third goal rebounded right off the defender directly to the dudes stick. Just unlucky

Power play needs to figure it out ; still an issue

  14. Cheeks_Klapanen

Everything other than the top line, Karlsson, and Jarry was complete trash.

It’s only game 1, so not hitting any panic buttons, but there are 4-5 guys on this team that need to majorly unfuck themselves.

  15. Euphoric__Dot

That was pathetic, losing at home opening night giving up 4 straight to a trash team

  16. I know it’s early and whatnot, but there’s gotta be a stat for +/- by period and sv% by period. Hell, maybe even correlate the two for stats. I’d imagine the derivative of those graphs are negative.

  17. starlightequilibrium

Johnston was 15-10-3. I hope this coaching staff has a leash just as short. I don’t care about losing. The powerplay is inexcusable.

  18. Racist_Achromatic

Look, it’ll be fine. We’ll fire Sully in December, then we win the cup. Just like Dubas planned.

  19. DoYouEvenCareAboutMe

    Fire Canada!

    oh wait wrong team

  20. SnooRevelations9145

Man wtf was Malkin doing this game

  21. Zero_Originality

It’s only one game. But holy fuck

  22. We have a healthy Iceborg. That’s all that matters now.

  23. Thechiefvii

[Mood](https://youtu.be/qi1LMIUOOAI?si=-iIyBRgjDXYYlC_5) all the hype in the off season but it’s the same stale systems and coach. Need a new voice to talk some sense into the guys and make them uncomfortable because they’re just going through the motions now. Same story different season

  24. lebinott

I hope Dubas has Sully on a short leash. No way this team can keep giving up leads like this game after game without someone being held accountable.

  25. CirrusCloud

At least we aren’t the highlight reel for the next 20 years of Bedards first goal.

  26. AK47KK

Remember the days where we would be unbeatable with a third period lead, man I miss those days

  27. i_MiLK

Could have just re-aired the Blackhawks game from 6 months ago and I’d never have been able to tell the difference

  28. tsmittycent

How bad do pens have to be before you see FSG actually firing Mike Sullivan? I can’t believe they brought back his assistants after not making playoffs last year

  29. Shaneski101

Karlsson looked frustrated out there, and had a lot of unfortunate shit happening to him.

Not concerned too bad yet; we have never had the best record against Chicago. On to the next

  30. warpedashell

Well with half completely new 3rd and 4th lines it will take a little to find their groove. The talent is there, they just got to figure out how to make it work. For most of it Jarry looked good.

  31. BankerBaneJoker

Only the first game, but what an annoying one at that

  32. Jolly_Job_9852

Game 1 done and I’m disappointed. Maybe game 2 will be better. Still have a long season ahead. I think EK65 get into chemistry with the PP and we’ll be seeing goals all year

  33. EbenezerNutting

Right about now, Karlsson’s on his way home thinking, « What in the fuck have I done? »

  34. CiderDog

That Jeff Carter holding the stick penalty really sums this one up nicely. Lazy and undisciplined.

  35. retired_fool

Same old garbage Sullivan team from last year that can’t defend and can’t protect a lead. No point in watching loser ass Sullivan lead another loser year. End the Sullivan show already. We already crapped our pants the same way with dragging Bylsma for 2390487239472397 extra years than he was useful for.
