  1. Fun drinking game. Go back and rewatch the game in its entirety and take a shot every time they say Connor Bedard…you’ll need about 5 handles of your favorite liquor if you play by yourself

  2. I wasn’t expecting Bedard to light the world on fire for his first game, but I did expect him to create opportunities and get his team the win, which he did. He’ll light the league on fire later in the season probably, he’s only 18 afterall with a lot of pressure.

  3. As a Penguins fan, I am very hopeful for a playoff spot. But personally I don't think it will happen, even after all the changes during the offseason.

  4. He done well in his first NHL game!
    Looked like he belonged there.
And you know he's going to improve and have a great career!!

  5. I think Bedard will be a great player this year, but people expect him to score like Matthews and make plays like McDavid and just be a overall offensive powerhouse which just isn’t possible ESPECIALLY on a player that doesn’t have the size that Matthews or McDavid have. He’s going to have to change his game but I think when he does he will be amazing

  6. He struggled the frist 2 periods on the face offs. Readjusted in the 3rd . The main thing is the Blackhawks came from behind and won the game ! Mursak was outstanding.

  7. Nowhere near as good as McDavid. People were hyping up like he’s a generational one of a kind player, but honestly he’s just not. He’ll be similar to Stamkos, Tavares, or Barzal: elite 1C probably at or near PPG, but not generational like McDavid or Crosby.

  8. Kids constantly going up against top forwards and shot down D pairs. Guys who make a lot of money to shut him down. He will get bigger, faster, stronger and will adapt. Just a matter of time.

  9. I think Korchinski also played well, I feel like Bedard overlooks him a lot but I thought he was one of our better defenseman

  10. There were a couple times where he could have been put on a stretcher and I think the guys hitting him let up a little bit. He’s gonna have to keep his head up a little more now that he’s with the big boys

  11. I mean, McDavid really made the bar high for first year rookies, but not even Crosby was near McDavid in term of pure scoring abilities at his first NHL season, only Ovechkin had lived to that pure ability to score goals like it’s nothing since the early 2000

Bedard have undeniable talent, but being good and scoring goals are’t inherently linked and people need to lower their goals expectation and enjoy the kid hockey IQ

  12. He definitely doesn't look out of place. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets to 30+ goals in his rookie season.

  13. Hes a child playing a mans game. He'll be irrelevant when next years "rookie phenom with personality 🤪" comes around.

  14. Honestly I thought that he played well, i do think all these expectations on him should not be placed i mean hell when the team goes to a pub what is he going to do, but anyways gald he got a point looking like a solid player already.

  15. For an a kid who was in high school last year, he played incredibly.

He’s obviously going to need time to develop and adapt to the NHL, but he showed his potential.

  16. I've followed the nhl my whole life but more analytical heavy id say the past 15 years. I've seen lots of great talent. Let the kid play a year review his year and assess his next year based on that it's OK to be excited but he's young man lol imagine the pressure too granted he's been watched his whole life but I think we need to give it time

  17. I'm honestly sick of all the Bedard coverage they won't even let the kid breathe its ridiculous
