One player I thought that was really really noticeable was Noel Acciari. Do you think he has a 15 goal season on the 4th line? I think so.
I'll start with it's only one game. Us fans though feel like it was a continuation of last year. That scares us. The Pens were in disarray and for the most part played as individuals. I certainly hope this ship gets turned around QUICKLY. Thanks DK, always listening.
Yup. I saw it too. Him over on left for the 2nd PP and most of the time just Malkin and Crosby playing catch with the puck 80 feet away…with no one shooting. Just like old times, but with EK playing Letang's role. The first PP they had at least made sense from the standpoint that they were moving the puck through EK at the point and letting him run it. I hate when Malkin is essentially running it from the point. It's like sleep walking and the PK doesn't need to move. What's next for them? Putting EK in front of the net for deflections from the Malkin shot that will also never come?
I can't believe this is something they still need to experiment with. The template is there, as Karlsson came with easy instructions. They simply need to look how it was set up in Ottawa and even San Jose, and then make the Penguins fit that model, not the other way around. Is this some subliminal attempt by Sid and Geno to sabotage things to the point they can say "See, it's not working…bring our bestie Tanger back to the 1st unit". You know, so they can not have things continue to not work but like the old days instead.
