    Whelp…another loss…but…for the first time in the 23/24 season…

#LOOKS LIKE .900+ IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS AND GIRLS!!!!

  2. WiaXmsky

Gru was in postseason form, can’t do it all himself. If we can’t figure out the PP we’re gonna continue to struggle.

    Game thoughts

    * GODbauer is the only reason the Kraken weren’t blown out tonight
    * Dumoulin has not looked great
    * We’re still pretty bad at faceoffs
    * Did the entire team forget how to score? 1 goal in 120 minutes.
    * The power play had 1 good extended sequence but otherwise looks terrible
    * The PK has been legitimately good and is one of the few bright spots so far
    * How many more breakaways will this team give up before we start covering guys in the neutral zone?
    * Dare I say the Kraken might need to get some home games to find success?
    * On to St Louis where hopefully things turn around.

    Gruuuuuuu….

Hey guys score some goals Saturday eh?

  5. ThePrince_OfWhales

One goal in two games. Not ideal.

It’s still early, I still believe.

  6. surfingeagles

I know they are two games in with 80 games left but what happened?!?! Where is the team averaging over 3 goals a game?

  7. retiredcrayon11

Well, on the upside Matty had a 50% face off win percentage. and Gru looked fucking wild

  8. MurrayInBocaRaton

Small sample size, but this team is some name brand yikes right now.

  9. BenSoloGhost

Gru was amazing. Losing Donato/Sprong/Geekie is definitely hurting us. D men are not looking good. Sucks we can’t even put in someone to spark. Need to grab someone on the waiver or call up someone. Don’t like being tied to these players with injury and no one to shuffle in

  10. MrWantsToBeADr

How did we go from one of the highest scoring teams, best 5on5, to this??? One goal???

  11. enbymion

what do you all think of dumoulin so far?

  12. QuackRevolution

Karts gets 9 minutes of ice time when the team is struggling for goals, despite being trusted last year to play on the top line against the best team in the playoffs

  13. TheAtomicMonkey

Ok, this definitely feels weird for me to say now just looking at the overall results, but despite the whole « allowing them to score a shorthanded goal » thing, the PP tonight felt like it was better than last night to me, specifically the one where we were able to keep it in the offensive zone until near the end of the PP. Again, this feels weird to say even for me when we have now allowed a goal on our PP before we’ve scored one yet, & I don’t have the expected goals on the PP from Tuesday & tonight, but that’s just what I feel. I’m sure someone will either say that they felt the same or that this is clearly wrong.

Like have they not practiced any plays?

  15. Go_Hawks12

How do we return a vast majority of the roster and manage to look way worse. 1 goal in 2 games is embarrassing, power play is embarrassing. If this is what Dumolin is going to give us I’d rather they just give all his minutes to Evans. Where is the fire and fight we saw last year in the playoffs? We look like we are going through the motions.

Only positive I can see is Gru and the PK.

Didn’t catch the game—can someone write a haiku about how it went?

  17. iceamn1685

I have a bad feeling that we’re gonna have a really bad team this year

  18. nataska07

About what I expected watching that first period.

    – broken passes
    – giving up breakaways
    – bad quality shots

I know Saros is good but you aren’t going to score when you’re firing pucks 10ft wide. Lost count of the amount of times I saw pucks flying off into the glass. Think I even saw Beniers shoot straight up into a Nashville defender. The guys aren’t paying attention to where they’re shooting and just look unfocused.

Whatever nerves this team picked up during the off-season need to be shaken off quick.

  19. RyNoDaHeaux

I fucking knew that letting Sprong and Donato walk was dumb.

I knew it. Geeks, i thought should have been traded to get some value for.

I knew we weren’t keeping all 3, but to get rid of all 3?

  20. hottubman_99

Just my opinion – even though I have been disappointed in the play in these first two games. there has been enough turnover in personnel between last season to this for me to give the Kraken more time to « gel » before I start freaking out. I’ll let you know when it is my freak time.

  21. seattlesportsguy

If we regress this year and end up missing the playoffs I’m going to declare that there’s a curse on all the teams that play on Root Sports. Who’s with me?

  22. M-Houndoom2

    Poor Gru.

Getting goalie’d two games in a row makes for a frustrating start to our season.

Hopefully the Firebirds will have a better, more enjoyable start to their season tomorrow night.

  23. ryanwsu18

Penalty kill looks legit, power play exact opposite

Still really early but you’d like to see more goals and offensive chances.

Oh well, onto the next one

  24. jholden23

    Oleksiak looks awful. Awful.

Why can’t we hit the net?

Power play is brutal. It’s obviously not working and I don’t understand why, even throughout last year, they didn’t make changes. Staying with the same thing that doesn’t work STILL isn’t going to work.

  25. Antilock049

The initial taste of regression is fucking rough. Not necessarily the end of the world yet though.

Need some line change ups and scheme tweaks. If the man advantage schemes don’t get unfucked we’re suuuuper boned without down the line scoring we had last year.

Wennberg needs the boot off 2c. He’s too offensively timid to be that guy.
