It is a great day for the Avalanche, and therefore the world.
The fact that the cap is supposed to increase pretty generously over the next few years makes this a good deal.
The fact that he could have probably gotten 9+ on the open market makes this a fucking superb deal.

But anyway, great deal, glad he’s sticking around. Probably means Girard or Byram will be traded after this season…. hope they can find a number to keep Byram around when it’s time so they can have a big 3 D core of Makar, Toews and Byram for a while.

This summer/next season will be real interesting as far as extensions go. Rants and Georgie are UFAs in 25-26, and Byram will be an RFA.
There is probably a clause saying Makar has to take his family to Disneyland every summer all inclusive.
That will make up the difference easy.
HOW THE FUCK DID WE GET THIS UNDER 8.5 MILLION also 7 years instead of 8 so if he ages badly that’s one less year at the end.
