  1. Let’s be honest, Ovi could’ve done much worse to EK. In my opinion, he didn’t wanna kill EK, just send a message about heads being down coming across the middle of the ice lolol

  2. I can't understand the stoppage in play and the scrums after good hits. Just breaks the game up.

  3. EK would've been leaving the ice with help if he didn't get his head up at the last moment.

  4. He take the opponent and himself out of the play. Not really a useful play at all.

  5. NHL Rule 607/Charging states: "Charging is the action where a player takes more than two strides or travels an excessive distance to accelerate through a body check for the purpose of punishing an opponent." Unless that player is Alex Ovechkin, of course, in which case there's no limit to the number of strides or distance traveled to deliver a check (usually from the blind-side). He's been doing this his entire career and never gets called for it.

  6. AO8 is ”non compos mentis” at this point of he’s career?? He is like Joe Biden on skates??

  7. so this is interesting, for years I've been saying 'charging' is nonsense (leaving the ice with your skates) and the sport has become weak, not enough hits, – even interference is a dumb rule.
Have seen many ridiculous calls by refs for what was just love taps. On this occasion I am surprised though.. clearly this hit was not needed : 1. Middle of the ice, not a highly contested zone 2. the pass was clearly being made and puck had left the stick 3. Ovechkin is in his twilight years, why the need to be throwing hits? 4. He came from noticeably far away to throw a check – with all four above in mind, I could easily easily see this being called a penalty. Yet after the play, Vary gets a roughing penalty for being in a scrum that was OBVIOUSLY going to happen. All it goes to show is, the league is garbage and inconsistent

  8. More dumb@zz NHL BULLSNOT.

Any team that retaliates against a clean hit should ALWAYS go a man down. These never ending scrums have ruined hockey momentum.

  9. Pens fan here. Nice clean check by Ovi. No gripes on my part. That is what Hockey is all about.

Also, as a Pens fan. We won 4-0, and Ovi was a -1. 😅
