Living next to Russia and looking at what they are doing to a sovereign country and it's people, while the guy who campaigned for and openly supported the mastermind behind it is making millions playing hockey in the NHL makes me sick.
Ovi was already showing signs of slowing down last year, but he really showed his age here, but playing on the same line as Backstrom and Oshie is doing him no favors. Caps straight up trotted out a retirement home on the ice. Put Strome, or even Kuznetsov on the first line who can actually give him good looks, and he should still feast.
Ovie was 20years old when he played first game in NHL.

The tackle was so lame though, tried to lay a big one on Karlsson yet the end result was that he himself was slower up and trailing behind the game.

As a Pens fan this was the opposite of disappointing. Special teams looked great, finally, both PP and PK. And Jarry had a very solid performance getting an early season shutout. After losing way too many leads recently this was a confidence booster and hopefully a good sign of what is coming this season. Yes, it was only the 2nd game, but I'm hopeful and believe we're not going to end up in the same traps as last season. Lets go Pens!

As a caps fan watching the atrocious off season we expected nothing more than this we did absolutely nothing to address to issues this team has we will be horrible until we get rid of ovi. But on a much more important note this whole espn plus thing is so bad for hockey I live 10 miles outside of dc and cant watch my own teams opening night unless i pay for espn+ or hulu someone explain to me how i cant watch local coverage of my own team on opening fucking night. Espn fucking ignored our sport for 30 some odd years and now all of the sudden thwy have exclusive rights to cover our sport to the point where our local teams cant even broadcast opening night to the fans that want to watch the game the most. Im fucking pissed at bettman hes been so fucking bad for hockey he has made the sport so much less fun to watch and now we cant even watch with put forking over an arm and a leg to fucking shit show espn
