Huge statement game from the oilers and great response by holding us to only 4 goals this time and losing by only 1 🔥🔥🔥

  2. International_Pen478

DeSmith: * makes a back door save on a draisatl one timer

DeBrusk: wow! What an excellent read by draisatl on that play!!

  3. Jordsport

The oilers subreddit blaming the goaltending on a night where they had 7 power plays against a back up goalie, two of Vancouvers goals are tips in tight, and they allowed a 2 on 0.

What’s an AHL calibre goalie to do with all that going on?

  4. SnooConfections8768

So great to win in another way against Edmonton. Nice effort by the pk led by Desmith. He had 38 save vs 12 for Skinner. Still beat those pig farmers despite power play disparity. I can’t believe that Edmonton is still going with the same shitty goaltending that they did last year. Stupid.

  5. electricnux

But I was told angry McDrai would both score a hat trick tonight….funny

  6. canucks5364

We would’ve collapsed under pressure and given up so many goals and eventually the entire game in previous years, not just in the 3rd but right after the opening goal. But this team is undeniably solid and I can’t believe this is what real hope for the season feels like

  7. Strict-Caterpillar38

Hughes has been incredible defensively so far, I hope he starts getting more credit for that side of his game.

  8. Hirose4SupremeLeader

Lol at this interview of Brown that is literally entirely about McDavid

  9. ebb_omega

Defense was good despite what the McDavid powerplay was able to do. A lot of clearing the puck and keeping those second gland third chances from happening. Not much you can do when getting all those penalties (and honestly except for maybe one, they were all pretty warranted and just were loose discipline). They did a good job closing though and #LaffertyIsWorthA5th

Is this what it feels like to cheer for a GOOD TEAM? I’m going to enjoy it while I can

  11. CapnPositivity

Listening to the Oilers announcers implode in disbelief all game was worth every millisecond

  12. Talax604

Oilers have let in 12 goals on approximately 50 shots.

Canucks have them panicking and in shambles.

They’re calling for their goalie coach to be fired into the sun LOL. Not even a bag of pucks!

  13. high-rise

Wholesome Petey helping Brown off the ice after he got hammered

  14. Time-Dot5984

I just can’t believe we are 2-0-0 to start and both against the Oilers as well

  15. stronklikebear

HUGE night from Höglander, love it! Goal, Assist, and a big shot block. Great to see!

  16. Least_Luck3844

Can we talk about the clutch kill on the third? 5-3 power play, “best ever power play “ soo massive
What a world of difference it has been watching this team compared to last years

  17. Talax604

Oilers rushed Ekholm back being scared of this game, and still lost. oof.

  18. Cole, Hronek, and DeSmith are absolutely sensational additions. I don’t even remember how we got them.

  19. Mister_Me_Seeks

Did anyone see who shoved McDavid out of the crease after the whistle near the end of the game?

  20. SnooConfections8768

Is McDavid going to whine again about the Canucks playing their backup goaltender insted of Demko. I can’t wait to hear his post game interview. Also, he needs to stop looking at the official ffor a penalty everytime someone gets within 3 feet of him. What a snivelling goof.

  21. deanaok96

ngl I may be getting a bit misty eyes every time I see Hughes with the C, but I’m gonna blame it on hormones

  22. Captain_JT_Miller

It may come off biased… but Miller had a heck of a game. Looked like he was in a playoff battle. Steam rolling Draisatl, winning some key face offs. He didn’t score but he was battling hard. And DeSmith, damn who is this guy.

  23. Least_Luck3844

Starting to see something this team hasn’t had in years…an identity. Starting with Rocket behind the bench looking mean af…
    Aggressiveness on the puck
    No backing down
Out work their talent then let ours shine when given the opportunity..cliche stuff but man these having been missing for so long

  24. soulwrangler

While recognizing that we are only two games in and the train can always derail, watching these last two games has me sold on our potential for success. Last year, and for many years now, it’s felt like wins came just as much from luck as talent, like every bad bounce or bad decision led to a goal against, always behind the play, terrible puck luck.

    This is a different team.

  25. Overall-Bottle6213

Garland with under 10 minutes of ice time again? What happened?

  26. lost my voice cheering our boys on but worth

  27. marcosbowser

Anyone still whining about giving up a 5th round draft pick for the game winning goal scorer and first star of the game tonight?

  28. 2/7 for the PK what a refreshing breath, and against supposedly the best PP in the league? Man it was a scramble in front of the net tonight but shieeeet that is impressive

  29. CaptainObviousCanuck

Confirmed: When Bo was on our team he gave away too much for free.

  30. fastcurrency88

Holy shit. Did Allvin actually add players that make the Canucks better? I didn’t know that was possible.

  31. theclansman22

We still haven’t proven anything, only beat the last place team twice. Need to beat a good team before I’m convinced.

  32. jackfrench9

I couldn’t see the game tonight. What happened?!

  33. fastcurrency88

So who do you put in net next game, Campbell or Skinner? I’ve gotten invested in this debate after hearing about the Oilers goaltending all week. 😂😂😂

  34. hangoverpho

Canucks just gave Oilers fans emotional damage

  35. CaptainIndoCanadian

I’m so hard rn holy fuck the boys are a team

  36. I’m gonna go listen to rink wide to see what Jeff Patterson is complaining about (after one of the best Canucks wins in years).

  37. MarvelousOxman

The NHL should give Edmonton first overall again this year. Surely that will fix them.

  38. ebb_omega

TSN can’t figure out what pace Matthews is on, Friedge knew it was 246 goals.

    And pronounced it hawglander.

  39. ebb_omega

Bedard when asked if he was expecting the boos: « No, I thought it was awesome. »
