Lol, I forgot how bad our victory song is

  2. ddottay

    1. Elvis was great, and Martin did good in the situation on short notice.

    2. Jiricek’s first goal was exciting!

    3. I’m not even as excited about the win as I am about how much energy the lines had compared to Thursday. KJ should always be in, Vincent!

  3. overcatastrophe

David earned that 3rd star tonight

  4. Fabresque_

Cya New York. Hopefully MSG isn’t flooded when you get back, would hate to see you drown like you did today 🤪🥱

  5. overcatastrophe

    Boone with that natty hatty!

  6. AlanLGuy

Boone put the team on his back tonight. Tex looked good, needs to do a bit better finishing. Bean excellent. KJ, Jiracek and Marchenko played well. Johnny on the board, but I still don’t think he’s playing his best.

This is the effort I wanted to see opening night. I like that we can keep 23 men up, because the scratches and call ups are clearly motivating some guys and others need to some time to sit

  7. slowclapcitizenkane

Went to the r/hockey thread. Fun reading all the shit from the Ranger homers.

  8. crustybeamer

The answer is always Boone Jenner

  9. Realjoocebox

That sweet first win feeling. I fucking love hockey Lets Go Jackets!!!!

  10. Elexeh

I fucking hate the Rags so this win was extra sweet. Elvis looks back to form. Dunking five goals on Shesterkin is no small feat.

All the fans who jumped off the bus after game one can come scrambling back.

Seeing (nearly) full lineups full of potential on both an NHL and AHL level putting up good wins… is it too early to be cautiously optimistic?

  12. HermanBonJovi

    Praise be to st Vinny.

Much better effort than the other night. My optimism grows slightly.

  13. Dick_O_The_North

Marchenko looks like he was unfrozen from a block of ice a week ago, but goddamn it I love that smiling Russian yeti and everything he does for this team.

    One word:

    **BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNEEEEEEEEEE**.

  15. tread_lightly94

Vincent is clearly a much better coach than Larson already. Strong adjustments from Thursday, moved quickly to change lines. Looked like they had put in the work and had a system.

  16. sixinchitalian

when Marchenko is in “thank you for fans” mode:

    🙂

  17. HermanBonJovi

I hope Elvis gets cleaned up for next game

Positives: The turnaround. Everybody was involved today, everybody was pulling their weight and putting a huge effort forward. Johnny G 2 assists, Boone hattrick, Danforth and Jiricek goals, KJ assist, Marchenko assist. Even some of the guys who didn’t score/assist were awesome, mainly Kuraly (big hits) and Tex, that kid is special.

Elvis was great and Spence held it down well with that barrage near the end when NY started to panic.

Negatives: Nothing really that bad but I still think we’re turning over the puck a lot. Main thing we should address moving forward.

The groups energy and pace was amazing tonight and we gotta keep this up. Waiting for Pascal’s press conference now.

  19. LegendaryTamer

Fun game. Dicey third, but I’m used to those now

  20. Tucker897

Just when I was talking shit about Boone dude nets a hat trick I will now shut my mouth about Boone

  21. xGongShowJ03

I admit that I had my head in my hands on that first Rangers goal, but I really dug the effort from the boys tonight. That was a good ass win that felt real nice.

  22. w_d_roll_RIP

Son of a bitch I’m back in, Jackets to the cup

  23. PPQue6

Fun fun game! Good to see our Cap get a hat trick, our power play was surprisingly good tonight, defense was aggressive as was everyone else in the neutral zone. A bit concerned about Elvis, but it’s early. Let’s have more games like this!

  24. Independent_Context4

outshot 17-2 in the third….yikes that is awful.

  25. Independent_Context4

Elvis has played 5 very good periods to start the season

  26. cusidhe_

    – First win for Pazzy party!!

    – Home hatty for Jens is always a plus

    – Both goalies looked pretty fucking solid, especially Martin under sub ideal conditions.

  27. the_shiney

Wonderful game energy tonight, on the ice and in the stands. Hopefully, we can keep it going Monday night. The good stuff is all pretty obvious, although I think Tex continues to do the little things that make the team go. So glad he’s back. Now for the bad… I’m not sure whether I’m being overly critical, but oh boy, was Gudbranson’s play awful. His turnover led to a Rangers goal, luckily overturned by an offsides. Over and over, I saw passes from the corner into the slot. Guddy isn’t the sole offender here, but he should know better. At least Torts preached keeping the puck outside. Time will tell if this is an aberration, or a concerning trend. Bad passes and subsequent turnovers will kill this team.

  28. ASillyGoos3

Boqvist looked bad- would have rather had Peeke or Blanks out there easily. I know he’s only 23 but I don’t think he fits here with us. Bean however continues to look better than I ever imagined.

Danforth got the goal, but I think we’ll really really click when Danforth can take Foudy’s spot on the fourth line and Chinny can skate with KJ and Silli. 91 and 4 looked AWESOME together and Danforth just isn’t the finisher I think Chinny can be, which will make that line so lethal. Danforth grinds hard (and falls less) than Foudy and will make that fourth line a little better at everything they’re designed to do.

I never need to see Robby, Jack, or Bemmer again. Sorry fellas, that’s the nature of the business.

Why did Pascal send out the bottom line for an offensive zone face off like 30 seconds into the game?

  29. freddythepole19

Shoutout to the woman who sat next to me at the game tonight… you were one of the craziest people I have ever met.

She spent the first period providing extremely colorful commentary about the terrible state of the team and what she’d like to do to each and every one of the coaches. What she lacked in accuracy, she more than made up for in expletives. Then, she spent the entirety of the second period talking about lesbians with her friend, and the first half of the third period talking with the same friend about some shocking and very personal details of members of her family (I now know that two out of three of her brother’s daughters were conceived on the golf course).

  30. Marchenkenis

Best one I’ve been to in a long long time. Even snagged a victory streamer for my little bro.

  31. SilkySquid91

I’m so happy Blue Jackets hockey is back. The Reds were fun this summer (I’m out of state do the smoke stacks still belch fire after strikeouts) but that cannon firing is magnificent.

  32. ThunderousDemon86

I loved when they put “Welcome back Jonathan Quick” on the Jumbotron in arena. Got a great cheer from the crowd, and they even put the camera on Quick who saw it and took it well, he was smiling and laughing and gave a wave. Great moment.

  33. LaoTze151

Laine is so lazy without the puck, he just stands around.
