  1. hard to get free agents to come to vancouver if they treat their players like that. tocchet did it right. he got an early goal, then cut his minutes way back. less than 10 minutes.

  2. If Garland's salary wasn't so high (he's not really overpaid) and the Nucks didn't have to resign EP and Hronek and that they already have a lot of big contracts, then Garland wouldn't get traded. Nucks have no option but to trade one of Garland or Boeser.

  3. Like u, I've always liked Garland, sure i wouldn't ideally want to have him on the 1st line but i think he is more than serviceable in a 3rd line role. Ever since joining the Canucks he has always produced adequately imo. But Canucks managment has come out saying the main reason they want to trade Garlis because first they want to free a little bit of money for cap space and second is because they would like to improve our defence a lil more by having a defenceman back. Ok but so far as how we are looking this season so far….i think we've improved alot this yr just judging from the 1st two games, and that is without Blueger, Soucy back yet, so i can't imagine how much better defensively we'll be when that happens. So yeah this yr is definitely looking different so far and I'm all for it, Go Canucks Go!

  4. 0:52 I took it as the coaches just wanting to see how guys did the little things, and weren't worried about the goals.

4:45 I think part of it too, was that the Oilers didn't really have a proper book on what to expect from the Canucks in terms of playing style. It was weird seeing them more aggressive with their stick play (lots of pucks poked away from players). Fun to watch!

11:46 I'm going to be honest. When Lafferty was brought in, I thought "Well, ok. We will have injuries and I guess he'll do ok filling in for Blueger or Suter. But we have enough C's for the team right now." I dismissed his ability to play wing, and wasn't aware of his speed and tenacity. He changed my mind quickly.

12:58 And against a team that can score in bunches, on THEIR ice, when they get second change (particularly a problem in the second period – long change). Character win for sure.

By the way, do we know why Garland left in the middle of the game? Did he had the same bug as Demko? Or hurt on a play? I think someone said he returned to finish the game, but maybe that factored into the minutes he played in the first game. I see he played about the same in the second game, though again, with all the penalties, even Toccs said some guys didn't play as much due to the multiple PK situation.

I'll sub. This was well delivered.
