Not a Capitals fan but I’m really happy to see Washington finally giving Philips the break he deserves. I watched Phillips for 3 solid seasons from 2015 to 2018 play for the Victoria Royals. Between Phillips and Hickets they gave Victoria 3 seasons of very entertaining Junior hockey. Myself and other Royal fans were always wondering who would become the first to be on a NHL roster as an every day player.
I’m looking at his stats, which I know don’t speak for everything, but the kid killed in the American League— just from the stats it look like they barely gave him a chance to play in the NHL? Anyone have any context?
