Great Question because I've tried to explain how it works for others. I'm glad that they got rid of the Two Line pass. But my Question ❓ Is why don't they count a shot on goal when it hits the Pipe or Crossbar ? I realized that the Goalie didn't make a save, but technically didn't the Pipe or Crossbar save the Goalie? I feel like they need a separate place for shots of the Iron!!! It's so much easier to explain it than it was before the change of Rules.
Hockey boring but you watch football and BASEBALL?! Baseball is only slightly less boring than golf. I'm the opposite, I don't think any of the other major sports come close to hockey. In fact I pay them no mind at all. Couldn't tell you the Steelers record, if they won they're last game etc..

When you "forfeit possession" while trying to gain the zone, the thing where you shoot the puck around the boards as you so eloquently stated…is called a dump.

I've gotta agree with you DK. Case in point I grew up playing hockey. My wife didn't know anything about it. She would fall asleep watching a game on television but once she saw it in person she was the loudest fan in the building. She grew to love the game as much as I do. Always listening DK!
The point you made about skating styles is extremely accurate. Malkin is a very high, strutting skater, while Sid is a low center to the ground skater.
