   That’s pretty insane to have done in only 138 games over about 2.5 seasons. Granted, the Islanders haven’t had many long term quality goalies since the days of the top guy on this list, and Ilya has played his entire time for the strongest the Islanders have been defensively since that time as well. But for a 50+ year old franchise to already be top 3 all time in a stat like this is still pretty mind blowing.

   For comparison, here’s every Islanders goalie to have at least 10 SOs for the team, the percentage SOs they put to games played, and number of games needed for 17 SOs based on that percentage.

   Billy of course didn’t care about the regular season, nor did he seem to think a SO was much more valuable than any other win, so I’m not surprised to see him so low. But that’s a pretty sizeable gap between Ilya and everyone else.

   What an absolute stud, am thrilled we have him locked up for another 8 years after this one.
