Pour tous mes fidèles aux couleurs de Mighty Ducks, nous avons peut-être été frappés par l’effet Mandela. Dans mes guides médias 93/94/95/96/97, ils disent tous « violet ». Dans mon guide média 03, les 3èmes maillots sont « noirs avec prune foncée ». Pas une seule mention d’« aubergine ».

I love these media guides. I have a collection and was sad to discover that the 2022-23 one was PDF-only.
If you go by the official color code guide, the #532A44, is closest to a « Grape Wine » (or officially 99% match for PANTONE 5115 C), and the other is #00685E, which is most closely named « Very Dark Cyan » (or officially Pantone 329 C).
So we’re all wrong, including their own guides.

Not really Mandela effect. I’m sure someone at some point with authority called it eggplant, and whoever authored this guide just called it purple. Mandela effect would be everyone read this same guide and read Eggplant but it actually says purple.
I guess that explains that. I wonder if eggplant was just something that got bandied around informally and turned quote, unquote « official ».
My bigger problem is with people who called the jade « teal ». It’s nowhere close to teal.
