« The Colorado Avalanche beat the Seattle Kraken, 4-1, on the road Tuesday night at Climate Pledge Arena. Here are three takeaways from the victory.
**Playoff retaliation**
Logan O’Connor picked a fight with Kraken forward Jordan Eberle less than two minutes into regulation. No surprise. It was Eberle, in Game 6 of the playoffs, who fractured Andrew Cogliano’s neck in two places with a dangerous hit along the boards. The Seattle crowd also booed Cale Makar every time he touched the puck after his one-game playoff suspension for interference against Jared McCann.
Sure feels like a budding rivalry. The Kraken lacks NHL history of more traditional rivals, in only their third season of existence, but these teams have reasons not to like each other. The fan bases are on board. I expect some charged-up matchups to come all season between the Avalanche and Kraken. »
