Definitely calling this karma after that embarrassment of a season ticket holder event the other night

  2. Tommybrady20

Vincent Trocheck had effectively double the ice time of Filip Chytil (22:22 to 12:22)

Take off the mask Gerard, we know it’s you under there.

  3. SPammingisGood

yeeeaaah…. Quick was alright. That’s about it.

  4. SEND_ME_SPIDERMAN

So it’s not a coaching issue. It’s an effort issue

  5. It’s too early in the season to let this kind of foolishness ruin my day

  6. Tommybrady20

Singling one person out in a game like this is wrong but I’m gonna do it anyway

Laf being 0G, 0A, -2, 0 hits, 0 shots after going 0G/0A/0Shots/0 Hits vs Arizona last game as a guy we need to be in the top 6 (especially since Wheeler is likely cooked) is… not ideal!

That kid just floats on the ice doing nothing (while doing it very slowly) way too often.

  7. Sjdillon10

Team is brutally undisciplined. I think that’s our 6th offsides goal

  8. MUSTY_BUSSY

Why did I spend 2 and a half hours watching this

  9. Sjdillon10

Hot Take: when a team plays heartless you should bench a star player and not just the goalie. It sends a message

Out of all the games the Rangers have played in their history, that was certainly one of them.

My list of cuts for the new rebuild:

Trouba, Kreider, Goodrow, Trocheck, Jones, Schneider, 3LD, Vesey, Lafreniere

edit: downvote me all you want, but i dont want these guys here next year. I’d rather start building around younger more dynamic players

  12. lemonpeppery

If it wasn’t for Fox this team would literally never score

  13. KingJames_684

How many coaches they gonna run through before they realize this core ain’t it

  14. duckets615

It’s always one step forward, two steps back with these guys.

We did not look good tonight, but it’s hard to say how much of that was self-inflicted vs Nashville playing well. Key had a terrible game, Igor didn’t look particularly good either, but I think the rest of it was solid defense by the Preds frustrating the boys. Tip your cap to them and move on.

Stick taps for Quick’s debut. He didn’t get scored on!

  16. greysfordays

welp, that was no fun at all. on to watching the golden bachelor.

  17. TheFaustianMan

    Excuses incoming…it was only preseason/a period/early season games/only a season … for the last 30 years…🫠

  18. therealhughman

That was… that was something. I don’t know what, but it was something.

  19. Reptar_4_Life

I handle a loss but holy fuck that was just hard to watch

  20. LemonHayes13

Too many times the team has just fallen apart when things don’t go their way early in a game

  21. Wesley__Willis

There are a bunch of issues to deal with but none of them are nearly as problematic as Laf, Kakko and Chytil each having a single point after four games against mid teams. You can survive things like Wheeler being washed but you cannot survive those kids being ass.

Will Cullye seems like a good prospect, but if Will Cullye is your best player on any given night, you’re going to fucking lose.

That was atrocious. That was last year’s team. That was gutless, that was lazy, that was panic in the face of high pressure YET AGAIN.

The only goal we could muster was on a 5 on 3 and it STILL had to go in off a predator. Combine that with giving up 5 (FIVE) breakaways, I can’t see a single positive out of this one. The kids go invisible, the stars look complacent, Miller is practically drowning out there, Wheeler’s washed (but we’re barely paying him so, ok i guess)

I don’t know. 4 games is nothing. it’s a week of hockey. But this goes back years now where it just doesn’t seem like this team can find its heart. Trouba managed to ignite it for a bit last year but it doesn’t sustain itself. There’s no engine, no sparkplug. Someone has to break out, right? If all of Laf, Chytil and Kakko are in arrested development, is it likely it’s all 3 of them to blame, or the org?

But it’s a new coach. You don’t know what kind of team you have until thanksgiving anyway.

I am hoping Laviolette can motivate these guys. I am beginning to think the problems here are not really lack of system, so much as lack of effort. That said: they need to get more dangerous shots on goal and not these empty calorie shots from the perimeter that an NHL goalie easily saves. Hustling for pucks is not a system thing and neither is physical play. This team needs to be whipped hard. Healthy scratching a top guy would send a message.

  25. MarsHotelSouth

Saw that Ruff made the Devils bag skate the other day. Don’t think that would be the worst thing for our group, after this pathetic effort

Start benching vets too. I’m sick of this. I don’t want a repeat of last year. It’s important to pick up two points against teams like this. Not discrediting the Preds, they played well tonight, but they’re not a team that the Rangers should fare THAT badly against. Just not acceptable

  26. Jokercard08

Games like this are gonna get us Patrick Kane real quick. And we do not want that.

  27. NYR24LGR

I’m sick of this team being aggressive when it’s already too late.

The third period against Columbus and tonight against Nashville PROVED that the rangers have a higher gear that they only use as a last resort when it’s already too late. Here’s the thing, they have the skill set and talent to be able to play that way all the time and offset the risks that come with it. The best defense is offense.

  28. Same problems as last year. Except our young players all look like they took a step back except for Fox.

  29. BarmyDevonian

Can’t really think of any positives tonight. Quick was good for 20+ mins? FFS.

No sustained forecheck, too much passing against a team that was clearly locked in defensively, poor discipline, Shesty was off.

Team speed was the biggest issue last season and the team got slower this offseason. I’ve liked what I’ve seen of Lav’s coaching until tonight, but I remain unconvinced he can make that big a difference with the roster that’s been assembled.

Just kinda felt like an off night while getting used to the new system. It happens, you’re not gonna look good in all 82 games. I have a good feeling about this road trip too – opportunity to really gel and get the system going (which we know is a system that works based on the first game).

    Panarin is elite

  31. LetsGoNYR

This team is going to die due to top offensive prospects being awful and waste good goal keeping and good young. This team is cursed.
