I stopped using app & site nhl.com this season. Found out Espn site & app is so much better. European fan here. Nhl app just doesn’t work properly for me, and I think it has less content and stats.

Everything the NHL is doing right now sucks. Their App on GoogleTV no longer shows highlights just scores, the phone app laterally just links to a website now and is terribly slow to update. It is actually useless, they are moving backwards we need a Commissioner that know and understands how to grow the game, people want more content not less.

I just updated my app yesterday and then fixed the Box Score issue. I actually emailed customer service about it and they responded letting me know the update was available. It was already working on Android I guess.

The new app is atrocious. Such a downgrade from last year. I haven’t found a way yet to easily look up player stats on a team. The team view just shows biographical information. No way to view previous games or stats unless you want to look up specific stats by leader. The refresh hardly works. When you scroll back to look at previous days scores and scroll back forward it defaults back to the current day. It’s bad. Wtf. Just build an analytics platform so we can see what’s happening in game and what players are doing. Get rid of the stupid “see odds?” button that doesn’t work. Figure it out.

It’s shocking how dreadful sports apps are for the main hockey outlets. I honestly rather use hockey reference in a mobile browser.

Edit: From what I’m reading I guess the iOS app wasn’t working properly? The whole app is a buggy mess and the worst part about the app for me is that the scores page doesn’t show the assists under who scored the goal.

This latest NHL blunder gets an F on the A-F grading scale. That is not a Box Score that’s a goal and shot total with no real information. The NHL seems to have a serious problem with hiring qualified people to do any job.
