#Oilers d’Edmonton #Oilers #LNH

  1. This video isn't about firing Jay. At what point do we stop firing coaches because the players don't want to do what it takes to win?

  2. Hopefully the blonde moment ends soon and we get back to working for a win. Take care all.

  3. Our defence didnt look all that great last few games.
We also occupy the penalty box alot. I think the playoffs might have been different had we not taken bad penalties. But just my opinion, I just sit on the couch and watch.

  4. There are problems with the players. One, they refuse to consistently play team defence and they seem to not take their opponents seriously.

  5. When you stretch the numbers out so far that you think you can support that Woodcraft has a winning % in Playoff hockey , when he has been regressing for 2 years running you exemplify why stats are so abused and are so useless in todays game. Hockey is played game by game shift by shift second by second and season by season. We dont parse 2 seasons together so we can skew and screw the numbers to fit whatever narrative we want to build ATM.

  6. For the past 2 years the Oilers went .500 in the playoffs. 6-6 last spring (4-2, 2-4), 8-8 the previous year (4-3, 4-1, 0-4) following a first round sweep at the hands of the Jets in 2021. The issue isn't with the Head Coach. Maybe some minor changes among the coaching staff should be made, but this feels more like it's an issue with the players instead of the coaches or the front office. Holland did what he could over the past 4 years to try and build the best team possible even with the salary cap limitations. Was Nurse's contract a bad signing? Totally. But Klefbom was most likely not making a comeback after the 2020 bubble playoffs so Holland had to make a choice on who the next #1 D-man is. It's starting to look more like Bouchard now, but how was Holland supposed to know when he would be NHL ready?

  7. Anyone who thinks that changing the coach is a f'n idiot. I hate fools. Jay is the best coach they have had for 20 yrs. The olayers need to cone together. Tean chemistry, takes time.

  8. Boston set a record past season for most wins in a season. Then went out first round. This should tell the tale.

  9. I don't think we need to fire the coach. I would like to see Derek Ryan and a prospect to either Philly for Morgan Frost or a center out of Nashville

  10. Yes they won 3 out of 5 series but who did they really beat . They beat the Kings twice who were a pretty average team and they beat the Flames who had dreadful goaltending. Then they lost to 2 series to real contenders winning only 2 games. So are they really contenders at all or just 2 great players and a lot of media hype.

  11. Defense needs to get sorted out. Sorry Dave Mason but your defense is clueless. Also an actual #1 goalie. Other teams goalies bail them out. Ours doesn't. If you want to get somewhere in playoffs. You cant do half ass.

  12. Here are the oilers problems and possible solutions.

    1. Mcdrai need to be split up, give drai holloway and hyman

    2. Kane is turning to dust since his wrist injury which obviously still affects him, he has also lost some of his speed. Put him on the third line or trade him, he looks like Kassian out there.

    3. Brown might still need some time to get up to speed, but I think he should still be given an opportunity with nuge, and mcdavid.

    4. Nurse has and will always be the hole in the D-core. We don't have confidence in him as a top 4 D, and he consistently blunders when it matters most. I think that trading him is possible if we retain though, given the cap increase expected next season it might be the only opportunity we have to offload this horrendous contract.

    5. Bouchard just got paid, glad we didn't pay him what some people wanted because my god if he was playing how hes playing right now at 8M I would flip my lid.

  13. I’ve been saying that for a year and a half that this coach doesn’t have what we need here for. That’s my opinion he’s not a very greedy coach with some grit he doesn’t have it and if he doesn’t have that the players won’t have it believe me, on that

  14. Dolynny I don’t care what you say buddy yes the coach has lots to do with it. You are the captain of this team and you gotta take control. I don’t know what the hell they’re doing in practice. Obviously they’re not doing what they’re supposed to be doing and where does this go to, and you know I know it goes to the coach. He’s not a very good coach. Yes he brought us to the second and third round. Why cause we had the players you’re not understanding anybody these players wanna win and if you don’t got the right coach they’re not gonna win. Trust me and believe me, it doesn’t matter how many superstars you have in this team
